What for? A 100 point loss against Brazil does not mean their program is wrong or that we are instantly better than them.

All these fallacies and analogies of "If A beats B and B beats C" is hilarious. You want to prove that Gilas is better? You can't. Because they are the ones in the Olympics. We are not. They faced France and Germany. We didn't. All these hypothetical comparisons is a JOKE. Even two full line up teams can have either side having a bad shooting day. Heck even USA had off shooting days with their "full lineups".

Please don't be like Robert with all his non-sense hypotheticals.

I hope Japan wins so I can see how you move the goal post for the nth time. Would love to see an explanation why we are still better despite them beating Brazil. LOL

Don't do that... Many teams who are not in Olympics are better than those who are here... As if you think those 12 teams are the best in the world.. do you think Japan is better than Lithuania? Yes, Lithuania lose to Puerto Rico, but they played without their team leader Valencuinas.. if they complete, I don't see PR will win over Lithuania... This is what I'm talking about.. too much hyping a team even no proven results.. Even Slovenia is better than Japan... Stop dickriding Japanese team... Gilas beating Latvia is more impressive to me...

Unless we play France anytime soon and perform better than Japan did, there is no way you can substantiate the word "overhyping". Hypothetical scenarios and what-ifs cannot prove we "overhyped" Japan. Nobody in IBN expected them to go toe-to-toe with France and Germany. The haters all gave fearless forecasts of Japan being blown out. So if anything, you guys overhyped their weakness. And proven wrong.

Iran is also a rich country who are genetically superior than the Japanese, where are they now? Korea is also rich and so is Taiwan. China is a no-brainer. None of them are close to the success Japan currently has. Give credit where credit is due. Money is not everything.

Our program SUCKS. We have no grassroots program. Josh Reyes is still there. We have an import height limit.

No the Latvia game was not a fluke. But JF is about to retire. Who will replace a 7 time MVP in the NT? The guys who beat Latvia are not even that young.

It's Junmar who is hard to replace.. but actually Junmar is still serviceable even after 2027.. he is 37 by that time.. he can be good back up guy beyond 2027.. there are many players who are still tapped by their national teams even at age of 40.. and whereas Kai is now reaching his prime already.. that's why I'm confident about Gilas future because we have Kai that will impact our chances...

Even Lebanon doing great outside Asia, almost beat France last year, beat African teams Ivory coast last year and Angola this year (that Gilas having hard time to beat)... Better performer than China, Iran and Jordan.. although Jordan do great last year.. they almost beat NZL, give Greece, Mexico and Egypt a great match before losing... Thanks for FIBA putting Australia and NZL in the Asian zone... Asians quickly learn how to play against tougher teams and plus FIBA expand the world cup participants from 16 in 2002 to 32 teams since 2019.. that means many Asian teams have opportunity to play against world level opponents... Many said FIBA just copying FIFA system of competition... But who cares!!! It will benefit long term... Don't be surprise in 2027 WC, an Asian and African team will finally break it into top 16 since the expansion... Even south Sudan impressed a lot of people.. they almost beat USA in friendlies... Beat Puerto Rico convincingly after lose to the same team last year's World cup...

High time to admit that they're good and an evolution of yuta tabuse, who made it to the nba despite limited offense..

First of all, Yuta Tabuse was shit who just happened to accept the grind of trying to make the NBA. I'll go back as far as Minamiyama who was shit. Their best player for ages was Michael Dorsey (Mikaeru Takahashi) and he looked like a shit version of what our 2000's Fil-Shams were, except he was legitimately Japanese-American.

Orimo? Pwede na. Ditto with one of the Takeuchi brothers (lampa yung isa), Iragashi, and Heijima who's still playing. It's crazy that even Taipei had a stronger squad than Japan in the late 2000's.
We haven't even seen much of Yudai Baba even though he had moments in the G-League. Baba and Kawamura are 100% B.League homegrown. No half-American blood, no AAU experience, no US NCAA D1 time, they just did what Euro NBA players do in the B.League starting their pro careers early.

Unless people make the argument that Ramos having the PBA career of Joshua Munzon and Sotto playing for TNT will make Gilas better, I don't blame some people for sucking Japanese dick lately.

What L? Did Japan won? They lose, right? Stop dickriding Japanese team... About Guam, I don't expect to win more games from them.. I just only appreciate their program despite small in population.. but that's it... My stand on Guam is like my stand on south Sudan.. new kids on the block but they proved that they can compete, perfect underdogs story... Basketball is playing everywhere (now 2nd most popular sport in the world)... Maybe 10 years from now even Pakistan and Bangladesh will start their basketball program too.. look at South Sudan now, they are now everyones favorite.. SSD vs Puerto Rico was watched live by more than 27k fans live... Because like me, many people want underdogs to succeed... This is also my assessment with Guam in the future too, A perfect definition of underdogs...

You 'appreciate' Guam but you call people who 'appreciate' Japan as dickriders.

Japan where Basketball is a Top 3 or Top 4 sport at most, where they only became serious in the last 5 to 7 years.

Guam on the other hand, being a US territory has always been high on basketball.

Japan are underdogs in their own right. But instead of appreciating how they almost beat France on their homecourt with Wemby (Was Wemby there when Lebanon played them?) on the biggest sporting stage, you just brushed it like any other loss.

Japan's 2 nba forwards are the key to their insane improvements, it's as simple as that. Japan's ceiling without Hachimura and Watanabe is pretty much ROC-A. It's not so much as pinoys overrating Japan but underrating Hachimura and Watanabe and the coaching chops to make them work in the national team, let's not forget that these guys are tapping the international market for tactical advancements too while we have a selection of the Chot Reyes and Yeng Guiao in our disposal

Hypotheticals don't matter. They won't appear in FIBA records, in history, or Wikipedia.

Japan might go down 0-3 like Tokyo 2020. Same thing, their 'achievement' will soon be forgotten. But the progress they made will only make them better and they will probably get those podium finishes you folks demand of them to prove they are better than us.

Anyone can claim any team is better than any team. But you attack anyone who doesn't agree with your claims like you are the God of all basketball knowledge. Why should everyone take your word if you say Slovenia is better than Japan and can beat Japan? Sino ka ba?

Kai and Dwight should join thirdy in newly built Dubai team in ABA league... They are better playing in Europe than staying in Asia... If NBA is hard to reach, Euroleague stint is good alternative option...
