Who is hyping Japan? Praising how their program is being run is different from hyping. Again, please quote the people who are "hyping" Japan in IBN. Based on your definition of hyping.
If I quote it all, my post will be unnecessarily long.Attack

Another thing that got somewhat lost in this Japan game is, "USA ginulat ng Serbia sa 3x3"
Jimmer and his buds lost to World No.1 Serbia 22-14

Well, that's why they have weight classes in most combat sports,. pounds or kilos really matter.

For the sake of argument, what has 5 decades of basketball obssession given us? In 34 years, 1 Asian Games Gold and 1 Asian Games Silver. In 39 years, 1 Gold and 2 Silvers in the Asian Cup. What has Japan acccomplished in a span of 5-7 years despite basketball not being their Number 1 sport? From practically nobodies in Asian basketball to the Paris Olympics and wins in the EASL.
Who between the two is moving in the right direction? Who should be emulated? You want to emulate and support a league that has an import height limit? LOL

that's why i am saying let's wait for the Japan-Brazil game as it will be the better gauge for now as Brazil will be the common opponent between Gilas and Japan, if Japan wins or lose with less than 11 points then i will admit that they are significantly better than us because we never know when we will face them in a real game with both having full lineups as it will be the best gauge which country is better

The U.S. team was supposed to feature Cameron Brink, the No. 2 pick in this year’s WNBA Draft, until she tore her ACL last month. Replacement Dearica Hanby hadn’t played 3x3 before, let alone built a rapport with Van Lith, Burdock and fellow American player Rhyne Howard.

With a future without brownlee and clarkson, eventually Gilas will need to transition to an offense that revolves around the primary ball handler and a big (Kai)
We need a scoring point guard like Kawamura who can open up the floor for Kai.
RJ and Kai duo perhaps?
At the FIBA level, Alapag scoring 18 against Senegal and Heading scoring 16 against the DR looks cute compared to what Kawamura just did. It's also hard to imagine how a scoring point guard will do when everything Cone has done is off a pinch post because it invloves the guy in the corner and the top of the key... not just the 7'2 center where the ball came from. It's that Pinoy exceptionalism pride that still insists guys like Ravena or Romeo are way better individually than guys like Kawamura or Togashi.

All these fallacies and analogies of "If A beats B and B beats C" is hilarious. You want to prove that Gilas is better? You can't. Because they are the ones in the Olympics. We are not. They faced France and Germany. We didn't. All these hypothetical comparisons is a JOKE. Even two full line up teams can have either side having a bad shooting day. Heck even USA had off shooting days with their "full lineups".
Please don't be like Robert with all his non-sense hypotheticals.
I hope Japan wins so I can see how you move the goal post for the nth time. Would love to see an explanation why we are still better despite them beating Brazil. LOL

One thing going for Japan is their youth beinte and huertas will be the offense f brazil but their 45 year olders.. It would be high time for the us bred tominaga to show that he is a stephen curry understudy.
Actually lamang Japan sa tao..Aco/Splitter was just grinding this team to make past a quite lighter group where they topple the best opposition which is latvia..To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.
