Anyway, Japan is the lone Asian country in the Olympics, and 1 of 2 from FIBA Asia ( the other one is Australia). they are grouped together with the host, the current World Cup holder and red-hot Puerto Rico, a win against one of the 3 is a considered an achievement already. But even if they cant "snatch at least a win there" they are considered more advanced than the rest of Asia already, simply because they are participating there, and the rest stayed home.

Absolutely no one was expecting us to beat Latvia. Especially using the Kai-JMF tandem. On paper, they would kill us because we will be too slow to defend their shooters and quick ball movement. Not to mention, pound for pound, the quality of their players are way higher.
