    • just a tuneup but i expect the best team in Asia with legit nba players to make the game close, Tominaga played like a "legit NBA player" against some euroleague players

      • why Wemby didn't toy with the Canadians or even with the Serbian, or he will only toy with the Americans?

        • Reality bites for Japan as they lost 21 against Germany. The Germans actually led as high as 38 points. They were just taking it easy come 4th quarter.

That is the best Japan can handle Germany... The latter is too big, too strong for Japan...

I'm curious how Germany can do against mighty USA team...

Tominaga was struggled against Germany... He can't shoot against taller German players, who are also versatile

We like to bash our PHL team yet we haven't loss to world level competition by more than 20 pts since 2014 except 2019.

                  • 2019 was really an aberration. 2014, 2015, 2016, 2023, 2024, Philippines has not lost to world level teams by more than 15 points

But within those years, the most convincing games were from Tim Cone. I mean the games in 2014, 2016 and 2023 were close matches you have the feeling were not going to win them and that includes the team of Tab in 2016. In our 2024 team, you have the confidence that we are going to beat both Latvia and Georgia. Yes, we lost to Georgia and I am not a fan of moral victories. However, we can surely win that game but Tim did not force it because we are already heading into the semis so no need.

I don't think it's recency bias but the difference between our close games in 2014, 2016, 2023 and 2024 is that, in 2024, you have the feeling of confidence - something that was lacking in our previous games. I was a doubter of Tim but the way we played in the OQT changes my view about the prospect of him being our national team coach.

actually my post is about Tominaga is sarcasm, as someone is claiming he is a legit nba player by having a token contract which is not even a guaranteed one, nothing but a marketing ploy for nba to replace the dwindling chinese market with Japan

                          • South Sudan leads USA by 2 after the 1st.

South Sudan up 15 in the 2nd quarter. They are making a ton of 3s.

Apparently Carlik Jones used to be a G-League MVP and a top scorer for the league as well.

yeah as if any Asian team had a chance to face the World Champs this year. Unfortunately, all of them were eliminated either through poor WC performance or by losing in the OQTs. They didn't understand the assignment. Only 1 team stands and is off to Paris. Their NBA guys, no matter what type of contract they sign, at the end of the day, still has NBA pedigree. lol. Still considered as among the best in the planet.

Just a piece of advice: Stop being so jealous of Japan. Nauna lang sila. Our time will come.

Avengers jetlagged? or South Sudan's chemistry kicking in? They've been playing together since last year. SSD leading by 15
