It's too bad that RHJ opted to become a naturalized player for Jordan as he looks like a very capable JB replacement. I remember SBP approached him last year but he had to wait for his turn because we still have JB. RHJ wanted to play immediately that's why he ended up with Jordan.

This is a problem with non strategic thinking. By taking JB we basically rewarded JB because of his years of play for Ginebra not on his potential long term contribution. But we lost out on a longer term in his prime NBA or near NBA talent in RHJ.

      • Is this fair for these 3 teams?

        Mock 3 team trade

        Converge - Mikey Williams
        Blackwater - Schonny Winston
        TNT - Sedrick Barefield

        Thoughts?

I wouldnt trade Schonny for a mercenary, I know Schonny did have a history of holding out on playing but whats stopping Mikey from taking an AWOL again.

I think TNT will be ok with future draft picks for trading Mikey.. TNT doesn't have 1st rounder pick next draft due to Galinato trade.. they immediately need Castro and Kelly successor.. TNT will be in big trouble once Kelly and Castro decides to retire.. Nambatac, Pogoy and Oftana are not type of guys who can take over in crunch time while BGR is always injury prone guy... They have to use Mikey and Parks rights for trading options... There are many players who are willing to part of the team rather than them... Maybe 2 1st round picks for Mikey and another future 1st rounder for Parks is realistic and ideal if I were TNT GM...

The ideal trade for Mikey situation is Converge's 2025 1st round pick and optional 1st round pick either 2026 or 2027 for Mikey.. Mikey still a top notch guard even he didn't played competitive basketball for more than a year... Getting Mikey that means Converge will likely be the dark horse contender in the PBA.. So their possible positioning in the draft will be in the middle pack of draft position... TNT will get finally a 1st rounder since they don't have 1st rounder in past 4 years due to past transactions...

Very much agree bro. No doubt Mikey Williams is such a highly skilled player, perhaps would be the best guard in the PBA, but as you've said, he's a mercenary. He most likely would become a headcase whichever team he lands the same way he was once when he was with TNT.

                • I hope Diouf or Kouame can play in the PBA this conference. Even if as a bridge just in case of injury of one the imports.

This is what we like about coach Tim Cone: he admits his fault/shortcomings & he always give credit to the opposing team. I have been a PBA fan for more than 30 years now & I think coach Tim is among the most humble PBA personality yet he's among the most successful.

I remember in the mid-90's when coach Tim's long time PBA team Alaska Milkmen beat the PBA's all time most popular team in a championship series, the playing coach of the opposing team said like: "Enjoy it while you can"

Parang may sarcasm eh. Its like the opposing coach, instead of congratulating his counterpart & the Alaska players, eh parang sinasabi pa na "Enjoy the championship becoz it would only be short-lived". Coach Tim will never say anything like that.

                        • Looks like majority of the teams are getting imports with 6'10 and above height. As an SMB fan, I would love and always wanted too see this.

Meralco - Akil Mitchell (6'9, 32 years old)

Terrafirma - Ryan Richards (7'0", 33 years old)

Northport - Kavell Bigby Williams (6'11", 29 years old)

Phoenix - Donovan Smith (6'10", 31 years old)

San Miguel - Kenneth Faried (?) (6'8", 35 years old)

Some of them have legit Nba Experience. Most of them played in nba g league and multiple countries though.

So far, only Terrafirma tapped a legit 7 footer in Ryan Richards. Others went with Versatile 6'8-6'10" Players.

I need to research each one of them to see who has the best resume
