On a positive note Converge's guard duo of Stockton and Winston is panning out very well for them. As for Heading I think they are trying to make him into a spot up shooter since they have 2 ball handlers in Winston and Stockton but I think Heading is more effective with the ball in his hands. And as good as Arana is on the lowpost his defense in the perimeter is atrocious and he is not a good shot blocker as well. This Converge team looks promising and if only they were efficient with their 3 pt shots this game I think they could have upset HK Eastern.

I think he is a good spot up shooter but you need to set him up well. What I remember from his Gilas stint was he was an efficient shooter but really slow stroke.

PBA Teams are really weak and lazy in perimeter D. I remember a Korean tweeting EASL last year that the Korean teams will have a field day shooting threes against PBA teams after observing PBA teams play.

Their size at @ 1, 2 & 3 positions will always be a mismatch against PBA teams.

Watching the game live. Arana at this stage of his career will be a minced meat if thrown in FIBA wars. He is an eyesore in defense specially against face up bigs. Clark crossed him up a couple of times and he got 5 fouls already early in the 4th quarter. On offense, he can’t finesse his way out of trouble when defended by burly and unyielding counterparts. If ever Tim Cone decided to expand his pool within the PBA circle, I hope its Baltazar not Arana.
