  • Great win for converge with a four point shot by Hopson as the winning basket!!
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

Idk Coach Chot was yapping about sa refereees wherein kita naman sa replay there was no foul committed by Khobuntin before Hopson hit the shot.

Typical Chot Reyes, always complaining about officiating

        • TNt should have just gave up two free throws than let Hopson take that 4 haha.

I that's what TNT tried to do. Kaya nga c Chot nagrereklamo by saying Hopson was fouled prior to his 4-point shot that gave Converge the win.

From where I sat, Chot was fuming at Khobuntin. And Khobuntin replied an excuse to Chot that there was screen so he could not foul the Converge import. Khobuntin further went on to signal that his teammate failed to switch.

              • That 4 point shot is challenging the tactical maturity of pba coaches hahaha

                • RJ should minimize those fancy passes as his teammates are not yet used to those kind of passes

Best way to neutralize JMF on defense, anyway impressive game from Brownlee

The PnR was with JB and Japeth, the ones I noticed. That's a 4-5 PnR. Couple that with the height of SMB's players from 1-3 ranging from 5'10"-6'3", that won't bode well for their interior when Japeth dives, or when JB drives.

Probably. I can't believe that Brownlee is now 36 yet he can play like that. Looks like he would be like Lebron James in terms of career longevity. I bet that even in his late 30's Brownlee would still be good enough & competitive as a naturalized player for Gilas in the Asian level game. He could even play as Ginebra's import in the PBA even in his late 30's. Brownlee is blessed that perhaps he never suffered serious injury throughout his career & perhaps he also takes care of his body so well.

I'm sure Ginebra fans will still mention his name when he retires as a Ginebra import, especially when the new import underperforms. The standard he set as a Ginebra import is just too high, lol.

                              • Very interesting topic.
I think the 4-pt shot innovation changes every coach' perspective on how to deal with end game situations. In last night's game, TnT was up by 3 pts. & Converge in ball possession with a few seconds left in the game clock, a foul by TnT would have sent a Converge player in the freethrow line. The best option that Converge can make is sink the 1st freethrow, then intentionally miss the 2nd freethow & hope to get the offensive rebound & then if Converge gets the offensive rebound, take a shot from close range for a high percentage shot to tie the game. But those are a lot of "if's". Or maybe I should put it as a "chain of if's" in which ma disrupt lang yung isa eh totally palpak na. To simply put it, kailangan talaga mag "converge" ang mga sitwasyon to achieve the desired result.

On the other hand, if you were Converge the last thing you want to see is for TnT to foul your player while not in the act of shooting . But if TnT could not foul Converge the latter will just be having 2 options, 1 is to take a 3-pt. shot to tie the game & the other one is to take a 4-pt shot to win by 1 pt. All Converge needed was a safe inbound pass & of course make the shot may it be a 3-pointer or a 4-pointer, bahala na si Batman!

I think last night's game demonstrated that being on such situation, the team leading by 3 pts should foul the opposing team to send a player to the line.
