Oh good to hear that in the Commissioner's Cup, there's no height limit on the imports. That will be the chance of teams with small centers to challenge SMB. I feel teams like TnT, Meralco, Magnolia, Phoenix & ROS will get to benefit with this rule.

    We'll see.
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

    • I wonder if playing good in PBA (which he is doing right now) makes a case for Lemetti to get an invitation to play for his Swedish National Team lol.

      • This ROS team is giving off vibes similar to that Red Bull champion team with Antonio Lang. No real big name star but they have good size in all positions, knock down shooters and hard working defensive players.

Remember, despite his age, Junmar seems to be getting even more unstoppable inside the shaded lane.

Now what if teams are allowed to have import w/o height limit. That team with short local centers will probably hire an import standing at least 6-foot-10 who wud be playing as center. On the other hand, SMB would probably be hiring an import playing as a "four" instead of an import who is natural center becoz SMB already has two formidable local centers in Junmar & Tautuaa. With that, ma neutralize yung edge ng SMB sa center position. It would create some mismatch in the four position becoz SMB's import is playing that position while the opposing team only has local players to match up at the 4 spot. But I think the impact of a mismatch in the 4 position isn't as much as having a mismatch in the center position. It's not a coincidence that SMB is the most dominant team in the PBA for several years now. Malaking bagay that SMB has a junmar fajardo while the rest of the PBA teams (perhaps except Ginebra with Standhardinger) has no local player who can match up Junmar. I mean in gave SMB a significant edge that it has the best center rotation in the league with Junmar & Mo Tautuaa.

It's not just the height, it's also the position of the import. 6'8"-6''10" height, but it turns out he's a 3/4, not really a big.

As for SMB, they pick mostly 4's as Commissioner's Cup imports. Balkman, Rhodes, Boatwright, so yes, they'd still pick bigs. They won't displace June Mar like that.

With that said, I think it's just easier to do single coverage on June Mar, and just timing doubles if you have a big enough center against him. Stopping him's not a guarantee, but at least you can do more single coverage and the other 4 players take care of the shooters around him. He might still do well, either way.

              • RJ's PBA debut: 2 pts. 2 rebs. 1 ast. 1/15 fg in 29 minutes of playing time. -7 in + -

                • Lemetti is a fucking steal, RJ was attacked on defense by Caracut.

                  • So does RJ doing well in Korea mean their guards suck?

                    • Well, that is what is wrong with RJ even when he was playing in Korea, on bad shooting nights he still keeps on shooting even when he does not have the touch, it has become an eyesore

                      • Lucky for RJ Tenorio, Holt and even Ahanmisi to some extent is there to mentor him. Just the right people to guide his rather gung ho playstyle

I like RJ but I always thought that Juan GDL was the best young guard among the trio (SJ and RJ). Confidence was lost once Tab cut him in favor of the 2.

Although he was still getting contracts left and right from different league, the angas and swagger has tone done a little bit. Confidence wise as well.

Hopefully he applies for the draft next year and sa TNT or Rain or Shine mapunta.

someone like Hawkinson, Petrusev, Voigtmann or even South Sudan's JT Thor will be perfect alongside Junemar, as they can shoot and guard the 5 spot,

                            • It’s been a trying start for Terrafirma in the PBA Governors’ Cup with back-to-back blowout losses but head coach Johnedel Cardel isn’t giving up hope that a breakthrough is just around the corner.

So apparently based on this article,

                              1. Brandon Edwards only has a hyperextended knee and not ACL, he can still play for Terrafirma this conference .

                              2. Christian Standhardinger has an expiring contract which expires November 30. this is interesting where he will end up. better for him to be traded before it expires.

3 Javi GDL MIGHT still return for Terrafirma, the question is when.

If TerraFirma are smart and look to rebuild their team, they will trade him for picks.
