  • Hard for CS to play if the team doesnt have intention to win. Terrafirma/SMC is just mocking the pinoy fans.

that's a pretty good % if true, equivalent to shooting 50% FG on 2PT shots

      • I still think Yeng Guiao is right about the 4pt shot and after several games I dont feel it added any excitement at all to the PBA games. And despite their discounted prices their gate attendance is still dismal to say the least. And I feel filipino fans are more eager and have more interest to watch the collegiate leagues over the PBA.

When will Cstand will be UFA? When that time comes, SMC has no choice but to accept whenever he goes...even Pringle is serviceable.. he can explore UFA too, since his batch is the 1st batch (2014) of allowing to be UFA and go to other teams...

The reason why NBA and FIBA didn't even tried to have 4 pt line since it was useless and no excitement to be used it at the first place...

Curry, Dame, etc would be too much. You'd be giving the offence too much advantage. There's a reason why despite the NBA changing it's rules to make the game more visually pleasing to casuals ie allowing teams to score more, dunks, 3s etc hasn't done it.

Actually, it's an eyesore seeing NBA teams can score at 120 or more on a regular basis with defense literally put at disadvantage.

Hope he goes to a team which will play him at 3 if he's gonna be traded. The 3 is his FIBA position, and neither Oftana nor Malonzo have shown to be good man defenders (although they're good team defenders). He's been bringing up the ball since last season. Hope his shooting keeps up, though. He shot 25.9% from 3 last season, should bounce back.

Its good to see that it seems Will Navarro is hardly affected by the ACL injury he suffered last year. Well, as what I've said, in our modern time, ACL injuries are usually not that career threatening nor they have much detrimental effect on the quickness/speed & the leaping ability of the player. Perhaps that is the benefit of the advancement of modern sports medicine.

His game isn't that dependent on athleticism anyway. Just smart moves on offense (although he showed shot creation last night), and staying on his man or being in position on defense.

Actually since playing for Northport, Navarro seems to have really improved his ability to create his own shot & he really has really been more assertive in offense. Sa Ateneo & Gilas (underr coach Tab) kasi, he was more of a role player, more like a defensive specialist. It is really at Northport in which his offense game is showing.

                          • Speaking of Northport, kung sana hindi na galawin ang current lineup ng Northporth, this team is competitive specially in import-laden conferences. They have Arvin Tolentino as its go-to-guy, then it got a strong supporting cast like Joshua Munzon, Will Navarro, Abu Tratter, Flores, then it got young promising point guards like Fran Yu & Evan Nelle. Maganda ang matertales ng team eh kung titingnan natin.

Sadly, it's an SMC farm team so we should expect the key players like Tolentino, Navarro would be harvested by either SMB or Ginebra or Magnolia. Si Lucero eh kaka harvest lang ng Magnolia.

Remember, despite his age, Junmar seems to be getting even more unstoppable inside the shaded lane.

Now what if teams are allowed to have import w/o height limit. That team with short local centers will probably hire an import standing at least 6-foot-10 who wud be playing as center. On the other hand, SMB would probably be hiring an import playing as a "four" instead of an import who is natural center becoz SMB already has two formidable local centers in Junmar & Tautuaa. With that, ma neutralize yung edge ng SMB sa center position. It would create some mismatch in the four position becoz SMB's import is playing that position while the opposing team only has local players to match up at the 4 spot. But I think the impact of a mismatch in the 4 position isn't as much as having a mismatch in the center position. It's not a coincidence that SMB is the most dominant team in the PBA for several years now. Malaking bagay that SMB has a junmar fajardo while the rest of the PBA teams (perhaps except Ginebra with Standhardinger) has no local player who can match up Junmar. I mean in gave SMB a significant edge that it has the best center rotation in the league with Junmar & Mo Tautuaa.
but still if fails they can still have an option to hire a taller import, Junemar can now play with another big if you will base it with his partnership with Kai in Gilas, if SMB can hire a big that can stretch the floor while can also play interior defense, then it will be advantageous for them so i don't see the logic that PBA do not want to remove height restrictions to cater for SMB especially for Junemar, next conference there will be no height limit so we will see, the last time that PBA implemented a no height limit for imports, it was during the rookie season of Junemar with Balkman, they were leading up until to that sakalan incident, and who won the championship that time Alaska bannered by Dozier, Rain or Shine with a 7ft import lost in qf
