Phoenix is just a Center and an alpha away to be a contender
having 6'6 Kai Ballungay, 6'4 Ken Tuffin and 6'3 Perkins manning the wings
and those PG's, they could provide some competitions to those top-tier teams
coach Jamike are improving and his system are already in place
Rain or Shine are slowly inching their way as well
good thing Luis Villegas are now healthy
I think CYG are grooming the big guy to be his next Mick Penissi minus the antics
Imagine if a Christian Standhardinger goes to Phoenix, Standhardinger & Junmar are going to cancel each other out. Magkakatalo nalang sa klase ng imports & the wings & guards that each team possesses...
...and coaching.
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

Sir Jams,
the Grandpas keeps on yanking nowadays about innovations here and there esp. in S50
if the purpose is to make the league more relevant to the present time
then revising their age old eligibility rules should also be included to accommodate talent like AK34 whom we all know the obvious reason
having him and possibly QMB, the Lane bros. applying for next season's draft will somehow lessen the issue about parity
because we all know they've almost admit it directly when they answered and almost compared the same narrative on UAAP
they could do all the new things and gimmickry all along but for past few games of the on-going Gov. Cup
those empty seats makes me cry.
Personally, I am not totally against the that 4 Pt area,
it's a clown in some degree but I think eventually some high profile league will deep there hands on it moving forward
hmmm, history told us that when ABA introduces that curve line during those early days
those purist and old school folks sees it as a clown thing a laughing stuff as well
now the rest is indeed history.
oh dear!! eventually ABA folded up after a few more seasons.
The SMB-Phoenix game simply showed the advantage SMB will have in the Commissioner's Cup where the height limit of imports is 6-foot-6. Junmar Fajardo simply dominated the bigs of Phoenix as the latter doesn't have any bigs who can match up with Junmar. Phoenix import Jay McKinnis couldn't stop Junmar down low as he has to give up at least 4 inches to Junmar. It was obvious, Junmar made the huge huge difference last night. Imagine his stats: 37 pts., 24 rebounds, 2 blocks. That is already a world import level stats.
I say things would be different if a 6-foot-9/6-foot-10 import is match up with Junmar.
Dominant as JF was they only led by 4 at the end. I only watched the highlights but I'm guessing a lot of those points were from exploiting JMF's defense.

creepy.
That's why PBA is against the idea of lifting the height limit of import in the Commissioner's Cup & is also against the 2-import format. They know that the advantage that SMB & Ginebra in the big man position would vanished or at least mitigated if those innovations are implemented.

Now imagine if Phoenix has a Standhardinger in tow or its import is 6-foot-9/6-foot-10. The competition won't be one-sided in the shaded lane.

Only fair trade for Cstand will be Perkins... Will Phoenix trading Perkins or SMC / Dyip allow Cstand to go other teams outside SMC (and farm teams)?
SMC won't allow its farm team to trade Standhardinger to any team. SMC people know that despite of Standhardinger's advanced age, he can still play high level basketball and him going to any team other than Terrafirma or Northport will make that team dangerous against SMC teams.

Lack of parity in competition is like porn, "you know it when you see it."
We saw that tonight in the PBA where Terrafirma surrendered 47 third-quarter points in a 127-95 loss to Converge.

When will cstand eligible for UFA? If he hits UFA, he can go elsewhere and SMC have nothing to do with...
Phoenix is overloaded with wing players. They should trade some of them for bigs.
Good utility guy, played the same as he did in Ateneo last year minus forcing his offense. He might blossom more in a non import conference since theyre making him guard the import.
