ROS got a break with injury to TNT’s Castro.

The winless and top seed Northport have no excuse to lose this way in the semis. It only adds fuel to the rumor. They should have made it more interesting.

But hey Ginebra is being handled by one of the best coaches in Philippine basketball history. Tim Cone > Bonnie Tan.
ROS to me will always hard time to win against top teams in PBA because of their system. They want to spread the offense which is good but the bad thing about it is the touches of players are limited base on the rotation. The more time you give to your Core 8 players the more they can be effective in their roles. Less time, less efficient.

Surprisingly, ROS has shortened their rotation and gave more time to their effective players. But still spread our compared to TNT and Ginebra.

But not lopsided fashion... I'm ok if sweep but all of the games lopsided? It also added to the fire that Fran Yu, doing extra curricular things (w/c is good intention) but in a middle of a playoff run? I don't know if Northport is serious in this playoffs..

If I were ROS, I will gamble my picks to get Dave ildelfonso.. They need this talent, ROS badly need a go to scorer.. Dave will provide that... Nocum badly needs help in scoring load.. If he's off night, ROS will surely lose...

Well maybe in 2 year time, if he starts to play. Where is Lementi by the way.

If I were ROS, I will gamble now.. I will not waste prime years of Nocum and Clarito.. this team needs another scoring guard to ease the load for them.. sometimes picks are not worth to keep.. some picks are bust... Just like what happened now with they pick to Villegas... I say he is bust due to his injury.. they could pick either Lucero or Bates than him...

ROS has a limited budget. It develops players and keeps them while they are within their budget. That is also the reason they use a lot of players. So they are not dependent on one superstar. When SMC or MVP gives a better offer they usually give in. I think they have less deeper pockets than Converge. Who were able to pry Heading's rights from NP, most probably not at a cheap price.

They got a bit lucky in their last championship, with Pierre Niles. The guy was unathletic and not very skilled. But he had the bulk to negate prime Fajardo. So they won a championship. The primary reason they are actually competitive now is that they have one of the bigger imports. GSM and TNT have smaller imports. A skilled bigger import opens up their locals in the perimeter and covers up for their lack of rim protection.

Dave's playstyle suits Converge more than ROS, though.

                  • ROS is a rookie contract ladedn team they collect and select starts and trade away others for frp's and cycle goes on... They might just go early with lemetti though..
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
                    1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

that's a smart way of remaining competitive despite lacking the budget, similar to how small market nba teams operate

Well most of the NBA teams are still net profit, in PBA no one is turning profit at all

                        • Will Navarro is making a big impact on both ends so far.

                          • Just watched the last minutes but still wondering why it took 4 games for NP to bench their PGs. Nelle and and the other PG are simply a notch below their starting 5. Apparently they had Taha to matchup against Scottie. Why play him only now?

They were winning without Taha. As they say , why fix that isn't broken. Until it is broken

                              • Taha had his best game in a very very long while, prior to this he looks bad whenever he has the ball.
