I have a feeling that Baltazar's draft availability will depend on who applies for the draft. If there is a player like QMB or lets say a Kemaka Hepa that suddenly signs up I think Baltazar might not enter this year's draft.

They can easily tank again, esp for a generational PBA talent like QMB or Hepa. But i agree, both those guys probably exhaust their options first before giving PBA a try.

With Terrafirma loss against SMB, the top 6 picks already secured..

1st Converge
2nd blackwater
3rd Terrafirma
4th phoenix
5th Northport
6th NLEX

If there is no other bigs avaialble at 4th pick, I hope phoenix draft Geo Chiu and be their legit bigman to defend the paint. This is the team's main weakness. Chiu can defend the paint in the PBA level and let the guards and Perkins do the work on offense

I doubt ayo will draft a fil-am, he hates dealing with them, so baltazar is a lock unless QMB or one of those japan/korea players decides to enter the pba draft

I personally think the closest who might apply would be Sedrick Barefield. I think he applied last year if I remember it correctly but had issues with his requirements.

if BWats can get him then they could get rid of Nambatac and / or Suerte and trade them to TNT.

hmm, we need to start them early perhaps I still think there will be evolution back then the Guidabens Codinera, Junio Thoss and Sanggalangs are 6'4-6'6 guys who improved through the years (you can Add Arana too) and just Junmar.CS and Japeth being outliers now the Junmar height (6'10 will be the norm to the guys like Hepa, QMB, Edu, Datu, Villegas (as guys like Kai and Sage will become the outliers)..

Gotta take the good and bad I see them honing their offensive skills here but their lateral defense and being role player center can be good elsewhere (Japan)

Case in point Kenmark Carino (his lack of offense was exposed in PBA but he will be given a lot of chances because we Filipinos play lazy defense) to score in other leagues he will just be there for his shot blocking skills

The defensive role player big is more valuable internationally than offensive skills. Well, when the big is not in Kai's or AJ's level anyway, or doesn't have the skillset of a Carl Tamayo or RDO.

That's why in a Gilas setting, I would take a guy Carino over a guy like Sangalang and Arana because of his defense, which again is more valuable internationally. Ayun lang, offensive liability.

We have also to remember that those incoming PBA rookies next season who are playing right now in MPBL will have to finish their campaigns in MPBL before joining to their teams in the PBA... so guys like Baltazar, Cansino, etc... will have to finish their respective duties in MPBL first... That means Converge, who will likely pick Baltazar have to wait for him... Expecting another tanking next season for Converge because MPBL will likely finish their season somewhere late December or early January (In case Pampanga Lanterns will go all the way to the finals of MPBL)... next PBA season will likely start in August and MPBL still in the middle of their season... So Converge will playing w/o Baltazar atleast more than half of the season... expecting he will miss AFC and majority of Commissioners cup next year...

Somewhat surprised no one is talking about Will Gozum. His draft stock plummeted due to him returning to Benilde and not giving em a title. I think he might join the draft since he is currently playing with Quezon MPBL team
