I dunno if it is already posted to the other thread.

we do hope they could discover some kids with length

I stand to be corrected on this but I've heard that the ED, the Black Magic and Maria Pizarro are arranging a meeting during the event.

    let's see.

the important thing is, event like this are really important and beneficial moving forward.

considering this time of the year, it is in the middle(?) of the Summer break at Uncle Sam

Las Vegas is a perfect spot because some of those major youth events are also on-going.

we do hope that it will not only end in a usual handshake deal after the meeting

but accompanying at the embassy and schedule for appearance must also be finalize.

we already posted the main reason here and there years ago about QMB, Holt and Ron Sr's remarks

and hopefully this all corners are covered.

On the heels of the Philippines’ first World Cup appearance in six years, officials of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas led by executive director Erika Dy and talent identification head coach Norman Black are in the United States for the SBP Las Vegas Showcase.

There, Dy met with Filipino-American groups to discuss possible dual citizenship processes for the national team.

“The key is that [Dy] is trying to get younger players to get their passports by the age of 16. And that needs to be communicated to the communities. She is basically looking for jewels in the rough that she can pluck out and continue the future of the program.”
Fresh off a stint in the FIBA U-17 Basketball World Cup, the Gilas Pilipinas youth team is now searching for new talents overseas in a bid to ensure continuity of the program.

I do hope the SBP will emphasize how crucial getting their kids a PH passport before 16 not just because for Gilas eligibility but for their overall career. PBA is their only chance of playing professionally if their US career won't succeed and not qualified as a world import, whereas being Gilas eligible makes their pro destination level up courtesy of BLeague, and KBL. That PH passport before 16 gives numerous opportunity for them.

I haven't seen most of these kids play but we'll just consider them as potentials.

The big of Rizal (29) also looks young and looks like he will become the tallest among all of them and he's not slow for his size.

Overall though, Moral has a very high upside. You could tell he's been training the longest and has great size for a lead guard.

Although it has negative connotations, this is where "super teams" can be beneficial. We have so many players in the country that results in dilution of teams. Regional super teams (like how Delta does it in Pampanga) enables teams to have "higher level" size per position. Super teams are a way of solving our problem of having 6'2 centers, and they need to form at younger ages. Then have these super teams regularly battle each other growing up.

Either this or, guys like Moral and Pasinos needs to be playing up a couple of age-levels higher (Pena looks like he's playing up). Pasinos playing up and being forced to play as a wing will do wonders for his future.
Is Moral the PG of Pampanga last Palarong Pambansa? He is good , but he don't look 6-3

Him and Matias are both good. Better than Bahay at the same age.. can both shoot and are flashy passer... He does not look 6-3 though

His Pampanga Delta teammate Andrei Dungo is 6'3, and Moral looks smaller like a 6'1. Moral has more upside than Bahay because of his athleticism and slashing skills to the basket. Bahay looks fat.

What is the first name of Matias?

The reality its mostly on the kids, the mother teams and there trainers. The national program aint that long so even if Josh is the worst coach in the world, his impact aint career threatening.

I wonder why he wasn't invited for the U18 team.

Actually, I might have to share this sentiment, although I'm not the biggest fan of Josh being the head coach of the youth team as well. It's not solely on him.

I look at Charles Esteban and Marc Burgos of this year's U18. Both are quick and long at 6'4"-6'5", ideal for wings. But, they're kinda hesitant in dribbling unless to drive against defenders that won't poke the ball from them. Otherwise, they just pass to the guard. They still play like bigs, e. I hope they improve their perimeter skills after this.

They have a Pampanga Pradera U17 6'4 teammate named Kurl Figueroa who is a dunker and high flyer
