Actually hoping that San-en wins the B.League and Wonju wins KBL so that it's a tournament with Thirdy, Alvano, Brownlee, whoever shows up for SMB... and guys like Arajki (Al Riyadi), OJ Mayo (Liaoning), Kevin Zhang (Liaoning), and Guo Ailun (Liaoning). Insane talent level.

I think this is an opportunity to generate interest in the PBA again.

At least, we can get behind our club teams in this tournament unlike the PBA. Like who fucking supports a drunkard as a team?

I also like the Champions League format, but I don't understand why only the champions of China, Korea, Japan, and Philippines get free passes. I think at least the Iranian champions and Lebanese champions should be shoo-in as well. Oh well andyan na yung format.

Glad to see Brownlee at continental club level.

Tournament is still at its infancy so we will eventually see it expand with teams from Lebanon and Iran getting automatic slots.

Crossing my fingers because I fucking hate the PBA and its jurassic board.

Whoever comes out from the West whether it's a Lebanese or Iranian club, they'll handily beat any insisting PBA team that would rather play:

              a. all-local
              b. one foreign player

Then they play to Pinoy exeptionalism card when they lose to the others and completely ignore the fact that a quarter of the team are FIBA-inelligible Fil-Ams.

Reminded me of this post: https://x.com/francisdeungria/status...46090745786369

A lot of defenders saying that "without imports, we still win" (what are NT competitions for), downplaying continental championships, not taking them seriously.

Guess what, you lose in continental meets, pang-Pilipinas ka lang, you're not at a high enough level.

It shows how insular and backwards the grandpas are in the PBA.

I think their professional leagues are not well established as CBA, PBA or B league… their national teams are good, but their PRO leagues are Meh.. Indonesia’s IBL might be better professional league than Lebanon and Iran… look at those teams who dominated the pre qualifiers, All Indonesian teams… In Lebanon, there are only 3-4 teams are well established ball clubs while only 3 in Iran…

It’s time we have those kind of events.. Europe and Americas doing this for years, the reason why they are above level competition in either World Cup or Olympics, they both have elite competitions outside national team games… this is one of the reason Asian teams are way far behind against teams in Europe and Americas.. Africa’s BAL already have their own continental ball club competitions since 2020, and it shows last World Cup, Africans are better performers than Asians… all Africans teams atleast won a game and better record than Asian teams… Africans have total of 8-17 record last World Cup combined while Asians have disappointing 7-23 record combined…

Also an opportunity for teams to get more money.

Look at Real Madrid and the crazy amount of sponsors they get.

Imagine the San Miguel Beermen (the RM of the Philippines) being so successful in BCL Asia that companies like Aramco would sponsor them.
