      • Stopped watching because of the anemic play of La Salle and UE up big in the 4th. Surprisingly it was a comeback win with a buzzer beater 3 from KQ. This is good for his morale.

        • That ue and dlsu ending was stupid .

Lots of turnovers and bad calls. KQ flopped on the 3 in the corner. UE made tons of mental errors and terrible game management

Belmonte could use work staying in front of, I saw him get blown by once, but he did stay in front of Veejay Pre decently enough. Torculas could stay in front. Lopez, gets blown by and got lost on a rotation. Hopefully, all of them become competent perimeter defenders.

I’ve only seen two games for pre but I think his ball handling needs work and he’s still young so it’ll probably improve but his ability to handle pressure needs improvement as well, in pinoyliga against dlsu he was forced to 2 or 3 TO from DLSU defense and the whole team also fumbled leading to a loss despite being up in the 4th

I agree with this analysis, Pre was locked down in their game against csb in pinoyliga. Benilde used eusebio and galas(6'4) alternately to keep him in check. So teams that has taller wings like UP and DLSU(kq and gaspay), maybe even ust wont have trouble against him but kid's potential is thru the roof.

I just hope that Veejsy Pre develops into a legit small forward. Like what I've emphasized many times before, I would like to make a distinction between a 2-guard & a small forward although both are considered as wings. I just think that the position that best fits Pre for his height is the small forward or the 3 spot. Pre needs to work in his handles, outside shooting & defense.

He's not in the KQ tier.

People are unaware or quick to forget that KQ was the alpha in high school when he had a loaded team with Tamayo and the UP core. Carl playing in college ahead of him and DLSU not making any finals run made him take a backseat. Then last season happened.

Poli has not had the same experiences (alpha on a loaded team, national team reps and pro international experience with SGA). So far, his career is someone you would consider as "playing down" (as opposed to someone always playing up).

All of that said, it doesn't mean he's not a very good player. It's just that we have to recognize that KQ is in a whole nother level.

I think his decision making and Iq are not as good as KQ, he has a quick first step and can break down defences and kick it out but I don’t think he has the same feel for the game. Also his handle looks nice though for a homegrown his size

i think Dlsu is developing him into the next guy after KQ goes as a scorer maybe, he’s getting more shots in the filoil, averaging 15.5 ppg on 13.5 shots in 20 minutes

Well, decision making, basketball I. Q. or court savvy can be improved as a player matures & gets the experience, although of course its a big plus if a player who is in his early 20's eh mataas na ang basketball I. Q. & maganda na ang decision making. At least, as you've said Policarpio has decent handles & has impressive first step. Also, I like Policarpio's outside shooting & I think his defense is decent.

                              • What I like about college basketball right now is that nagiging common na yung mga 6-foot-5 & above small forwards & combo forwards which wasn't the case some 5 to 6 years ago. Hope Philippine collegiate basketball will produce more Kevin Quaimbaos, Calvin Oftanas, Will Navarros, Ken Tuffins, Carl Tamayos, Justin Baltazars.
