KQ hasn't had any blood connection on that part of Asia therefore the Eric Gordon route may not be possible as well.

it will really create some ripple effect on FIBA if ever he will be granted..it will be noisy in the neighborhood if the Sheikhs insist on their serious plans.

Realistically, the offers waiting in Japan are much better and KQ gets to play for Gilas before going back to back for La Salle.

But then again the UAE has got around 600,000+ reasons to naturalize KQ and make him a permanent fixture in the UAE NBL where he'll probably play in that same court for Al Nasr and go to other Emirati's like Abu Dhabi and Sharjah where he'll fill venues with paying OFW fans. If the price is bigger than whatever he got from Razon for staying in La Salle (to you naive college kids, go f*** yourselves), it's worth a listen... especially if the new Gilas coach's is stupid enough to ignore KQ for the FIBA cycle.

Maybe Dubai wants KQ to be part of their propose plan of Dubai joining Euroleague next year? If this is the case then Go for it… KQ might be the first full pinoy blood to play in Euroleague if that happens… Euroleague is the 2nd biggest basketball league in the world.. Although Euroleague eligibility rules is very relax since they can hire multiple foreign players… If NBA dreams are impossible for Filipinos then they should try Euroleague first…

And also if I were the President of a basketball federation then why hiring an Asian dude while they can hire better players especially in the US… in terms of talent, American players are the best… they can hire players from the G league or overseas leagues that they think he can lead their national team just to be competitive… even Spain hired American talent to be a naturalized player… KQ also didn’t have any blood or atleast born in that said country to have a chance to be a local player… like Kyt Jimenez, he can play in Saudi Arabia as local player because he was born there or CJ Perez in Hong Kong (if he suddenly wants to change country just like Eric Gordon to Bahamas)…

I agree. KQ had a good performance but likely it was the seats full of cheering Pinoy fans that motivated the UAE official. Like Kiefer’s effect in B league. Realistically speaking KQ is not good as the other naturalized players from US or Europe. Money is a good motivator. But he will probably have other offers that dont need a change in citizenship.

Maybe KQ to Dubai team that will join in Euroleague next year…. Why not? Actually, Filipino ballers should try first Euroleague spots than try their luck to the NBA… guys like Edu, Kai, Ramos or Wright can play in the Euroleague if they want… salary is also slight bigger than Japan too…

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, the Dubai expansion for the Euroleague has a lot of Adriatic Basketball Association hands all over it despite Dirhams paying for it. I can't see why one brings it up then dismisses the idea of KQ being in it as if he'll be taking the UAE offer seriously.

I just vividly remember how Tab badly wanted to try Dwight Ramos as a point guard but never happened thanks to good old Chot Reyes, KQ is similarly sized but has more tools to actually do it and even brought the ball down a few these in these past 3 games. As great as PBA guards or even guys like Abarrientos and Belangel are, they don't have the size to match up with 6'3 Arab point guards or even former Soviet states that got a naturalized Egoy playing the one.

Well. Where else would that offers come from but the B-league. The money is really good there & he doesn't need to change his citizenship to play there.

I highly doubt Quiambao accepts the naturalization offer of UAE. It’s not that attractive. UAE is languishing in the bottom half of FIBA rankings. Then their pro league is not that extensive compared to B-League. Upon searching the UAE Pro league has only 10 teams. Quiambao grew up wanting to be a superstar player in the Philippines.

May be as a world import in the UAE is a probability.

Maybe the Dubai team expansion of Euroleague is the only enticing that KQ will accept, Dubai needs some followers especially from Pinoys based there.. w/ no basketball history UAE has and only very few local Emirati knows basketball, having Filipino fans is a good back up followers for their Euroleague start up.. And who knows, it will open more Asians (especially Filipinos) to get exposure in the 2nd biggest basketball league after NBA… The naturalization for KQ is just their back up plan…

Balti is not very impressive so far for SGA… so no news on Balti… but let us hope that Dubai team that will play in Euroleague will tap some of our players aside from KQ… both will benefit from it… Dubai will get followers from Filipino based fans there while Filipino players can play in the 2nd biggest basketball league after NBA… I was always suggest even before that our players should try Euroleague first rather than trying their luck in the NBA…because you know, playing for UAE in fiba games is not very enticing outside money… they are ranked 103 in the world and no chance on playing even in the fiba asia cup… That’s why the very possible that KQ will accept is to play for Dubai team that will enter Euroleague next year

I dont think SBP has a say on this. But come on KQ is good but I dont think he’s the savior of our team. Without Dwight Howard he wont get as many open shots and his defense would be more exposed. Hell Escandor became Gilas material for one game but we know he is not really one based on his body of work.

I like KQ because of how far his skill has gone as a home grown but on most matchups I would still take Ramos as starting SF because of defense and superior handles.

Yeah,but he's good enough to be in a rotation of combo forwards/guards,so if you have injuries or scheduling conflict he can be tapped.You can never have enough players at that position that can play at the Gilas level.
