I do hope that those arab billionaires may somehow invest in the near future not only in the Euroleague but also in Philippine basketball, just look at those sold out crowds..it's really a worth of investment esp. seeing those hundreds of OFW in the stands.

we've seen the effect when BAD plays here esp. during that best of 7 series, our dying league badly needs some new recipe.

What is the next move for Heading after SGA stint? Will he still explore overseas or joining PBA? Is terrafirma hold his rights?

The only possibility is hiring Filipino plays for their professional leagues… If Dubai will make it to the Euroleague, tapping some Asian players (I hope Filipino players) will be possibility.. it will open Euroleague market to asia too…

For short players like him, I think the only way to make it is to be a lights-out shooter. If you're just there to bring the ball down, might as well have a bigger player do it.
This must be a big wakeup call for him, that his style just doesn't translate in international games, where bigger guys than him are as fast and stronger.

After last night's 11 assists game, Jordan Heading proved some of the posters here wrong (including me) that he was strictly a shooter. He only had 2 pts but had 11 assists, that is basically some true point guard stuff (having more assists than points). The next time Heading will be called up for Gilas, it'll be good if he is used more than just a shooter, he is listed as 6'1, so he has size at the PG position compared to other Asian pg's.

Don't know how serious the UAE federation is, KQ says they talk to him about the possibility of not just playing in their domestic league but also naturalizing him

Kevin Quiambao is demonstrating that he is on par with the continent’s best players. In the ongoing 33rd Dubai International Basketball Championship, the reigning UAAP Most Valuable Player is averaging 18.67 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game, helping Strong Group Athletics maintain a 3-0 record. With his string of stellar performances, the 6-foot-6 […]

they prolly want to naturalize him so they could sign him as a local in their domestic league. naturalizing for the national team doesn't make sense when there are plenty of players who are bigger, faster, better than him, especially those from africa and eastern europe who would love to move to dubai

Isnt it impossible for him to join their national squad given that he has already done his senior tenure in Gilas? Then again saudi could just pay them off, either way i think they will probably just want him to play in the saudi league to get the Filipino audience

Realistically, the offers waiting in Japan are much better and KQ gets to play for Gilas before going back to back for La Salle.

But then again the UAE has got around 600,000+ reasons to naturalize KQ and make him a permanent fixture in the UAE NBL where he'll probably play in that same court for Al Nasr and go to other Emirati's like Abu Dhabi and Sharjah where he'll fill venues with paying OFW fans. If the price is bigger than whatever he got from Razon for staying in La Salle (to you naive college kids, go f*** yourselves), it's worth a listen... especially if the new Gilas coach's is stupid enough to ignore KQ for the FIBA cycle.

Actually his listed height is 6'2,last night's game proves that he can make adjustments if necessary,he has good basketball iq.

This is why I hope upcoming HS and college kids will have a NIL similar to the US,so that they won't have to depend to their "sponsors".

If the UAE grants KQ all the rights/privileges that they give to their citizens (family book) and he is able to pass citizenship to his family, that offer will not be that easy to refuse. Money is nothing to those sheiks. Living in Dubai can be very appealing to some people, especially if you can live there as an Emirati.

                            • A few examples of Emirati privileges:

-If a citizen wants to study in any college/university abroad, they can apply for the government to pay for it (process is so easy to pass).
-All citizens are virtually guaranteed a job (with higher wages than other nationalities).
-Free land (for residential or industrial use) and zero interest loan to build on the land.
-Free healthcare and significant discount on a lot of things like utility bills.

Everything is stacked in your favor.

I agree. KQ had a good performance but likely it was the seats full of cheering Pinoy fans that motivated the UAE official. Like Kiefer’s effect in B league. Realistically speaking KQ is not good as the other naturalized players from US or Europe. Money is a good motivator. But he will probably have other offers that dont need a change in citizenship.
