Rumor has it that Sean Chambers and FEU have secured his commitment. But hope SBU has a shot in recruiting him when Jude goes there in a couple of weeks.
Kinda OT does anyone know if Aaron Fermin transferred again? Didnt see his name in the PinoyLiga Cup.

I hope TM Jude bags a big man. As we can see in SBU’s last two games (CEU and DLSU), RLs were decimated in the paint due to a lack of quality big men.
In the offseason tournaments where we are facing teams from the UAAP, NCRAA and others brandishing big and dominant FSAs, we will have a hard time against these teams because we are playing all-filipino.
Question is, are we going to spend money to recruit big and tall Fil-Foreigners to battle with dominant FSAs just to win the offseason leagues?

I was able to catch the CSB-DLSU PL Finals and the CSB bigs of Mara and Liwag played well defensively against DLSU’s FSA. And on offense Liwag gave the DLSU FSA a hard time on the 2-man PNR game. I was quite amazed how Liwag was able to stand toe-to-toe defensively. He has improved and got bigger.
I would say on paper SBU got better overall. But the big man rotation, I think is a downgrade from last year’s duo of Cuntapay and Jopia. Cuntapay has slow feet defensively but he compensates it with good 3-point shooting on offense. Jopia was a decent low post threat and was a shot block threat on defense.
Celzo is not a threat on offense. That’s why in certain instances Yuri downsizes and puts Yuki at the 5 to give SBU some offensive threat at the big man position.

Finally, Aaron Fermin getting a green light from coach Randy to join tournaments (after rehab), and might be included in South East Asian University games this June/July in Jakarta.
