I hope TM Jude bags a big man. As we can see in SBU’s last two games (CEU and DLSU), RLs were decimated in the paint due to a lack of quality big men.

Rumor has it that Sean Chambers and FEU have secured his commitment. But hope SBU has a shot in recruiting him when Jude goes there in a couple of weeks.
Hmmmm is TDLC connected with Tumakbo now? Well maybe FEU has first dibs with Tumakbo due to their Alaska connection.

Kinda OT does anyone know if Aaron Fermin transferred again? Didnt see his name in the PinoyLiga Cup.

              • I see a Brendon Ocampo among the roster of mcu in pinoyliga. Is he the same ex bedan? He's joined by mark gabieta who's also listed in sbu's roster.

In the NCAA, we are ok with our bigs since there will be no big FSAs to contend with. We are preparing for the NCAA and our frontline is just right.

In the offseason tournaments where we are facing teams from the UAAP, NCRAA and others brandishing big and dominant FSAs, we will have a hard time against these teams because we are playing all-filipino.

Question is, are we going to spend money to recruit big and tall Fil-Foreigners to battle with dominant FSAs just to win the offseason leagues?

It is because I am doubtful Bismark Lina will not make it to S100. And Joe Celzo will have a hard time against the more talented CSB big Allen Liwag.

I was able to catch the CSB-DLSU PL Finals and the CSB bigs of Mara and Liwag played well defensively against DLSU’s FSA. And on offense Liwag gave the DLSU FSA a hard time on the 2-man PNR game. I was quite amazed how Liwag was able to stand toe-to-toe defensively. He has improved and got bigger.

I would say on paper SBU got better overall. But the big man rotation, I think is a downgrade from last year’s duo of Cuntapay and Jopia. Cuntapay has slow feet defensively but he compensates it with good 3-point shooting on offense. Jopia was a decent low post threat and was a shot block threat on defense.

Celzo is not a threat on offense. That’s why in certain instances Yuri downsizes and puts Yuki at the 5 to give SBU some offensive threat at the big man position.

San Beda already got Sajonia, Celzo and Songcuya and even Jopia from them. If the kid already commited to them, just let him commit and play for them and stay away. You can get Pablo and Mangahas instead if you want

                          • If dominic and feu have an understanding in principle I am sure Team RL officials will not dare touch him even with a ten foot pole.

                              • Finally, Aaron Fermin getting a green light from coach Randy to join tournaments (after rehab), and might be included in South East Asian University games this June/July in Jakarta.
