As for dlsu, so they continued recruiting him even when concerns from lsgh were raised about him, what happened to one la salle? Wonder what Joshua David thinks of this with him being part of that 2018 batch of greenies and being teammates with poli at dlsu.
they said that the issue was discovered when poli commits to la salle?

We dont have a complete timeline yet but poli committed to them around july, there was no mention when in 2020 lsgh asked ncaa to check things. No matter who knew first, ncaa messed up big time.

      • So SGA has added MPBL's Manila Stars to its stable of teams, tapping current csb assistant Gabby severino as Head coach, while having Coach charles tiu as consultant. With Coach gabby being busy in mpbl, expect coach rajko to be more involved offensively with the blazers. Lastly csb has formally added ex team captain JC Cullar as assistant coach, specializing on player development.

        • Former Adamson Falcon(batchmate of peter rosillo in the baby falcons) Jio Gonzaga moves to CSB. An athletic 6'4 small forward, that has good footwork and has the range to shoot it outside. Very lanky so defensively he should be solid there as well. Very versatile, can play and guard multiple positions, reminds me a lot of mark sangco, tho Jio's more polished as a scorer at his age at 21 years old, should be eligible for atleast 3 more years. He fits the mold of what coach charles wants in his player. Played mostly for team B last year tho suffered a leg injury that mostly sidelined him.

Like abra kadabra they will be gone by june and will not be able to help san juan come playoffs (Adrian Nocum couldve returned to Maoua but Jinggoy este san juan prevented it)..
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..

            • Wonder why beda still has Jalbuena, against csb in pinoyliga, dude was nothing but a walking distraction, trying to get into it with Mara(infairness to him, never initiated anything). Allergic na nga sa libro, basagulero pa tsk tsk.

Tsk tsk. I had high hopes for him(and Jarque) when they were with UST. UST prototype player - tall, long and has range. I also dont think he will be lined up this coming season with the reload San Beda had.

How many years has he spent with beda's program? He's still rail thin so opposing guys dont have trouble against him, skills wise, shooting havent improved, defensively he looked lost. Atleast Jarque now has gained some muscle, starting to have a reliable 3 and slashing has improved a lot, just needs the confidence. He looking more and more like abando as he progresses.

I think Jalbuena is on his second academic year at SBU. He had a bad game vs CSB. Coach Andre is utilizing him as a point forward at the 4 whenever the guards are pressured or when he grabs the board. Parang Jommel
                    Puno ang ginagawa sa kanya.

In that CSB game Richi Calimag scored 9 or 11 points in the 1st half which led to San Beda’s biggest lead at 15 points. But strangely he was not fielded in the 2nd half.

He was used as the small ball 5 that game, really ineffective. Prolly due to their lack of bigs. Good ball handling skills but still prone to turnovers, averging 3 to 4, not to mention the offensive fouls so the maturity needs to improve as well.

Yup was wondering why calimag didnt play at all 2nd half, lots of sajonia and the pgs. Anyway how's penny so far? Havent seen much lately of him but looks like he needs to bulkp up a littler and build on his strength, opppsing pgs didnt have amy trouble with his D, some of his shots looks forced as well.

I've mentioned Jarque's potential years ago. He shows flashes (handles, shooting and vision) and moves like a natural 3. Good thing Coach Charles is not forcing him to play like a big.

Yes, i dont believe he'll survive in the paint against the physical bigs of ncaa so playing 3, sometime even at 2 is the right fit for his game. He, ondoa 6'3 and oli 6'2 interchange at the wing spot right now, it just depends on who the personnel on the floor is. If its 2 guard, they play small forward, if its jumbo(big + 2 of sangco, sanchez or eusebio) or twin towers (2 of Liwag, turco or any of the traditional bigs) they play shooting guard.

I think 2 spot is also possible. The only downside for him is his age, he's not getting younger and has still not made rotation.

I remember a sequence where he went coast to coast and made a perfect no look assist and then hit a three on the next play. The tools are there and rare in the country with his length. Just got to get with the mental part.

I’d say Matthew Oli has locked that starting 3 over Jarque and Ondoa. Oli has a more consistent prrimeter shooting than the latter two. Sanchez can play that position as well. But realistically he’ll be a 4 together with Eusebio and Sangco. But all are interchangeable because of their versatility.

The 5 will be Liwag, Mara and Turco.
