I can say they're attending classes naman, some of my former classmates are profs of theirs, pretty compentent daw in the classroom. During my time, Csb allowed its student athletes with a low load, atleast 15-18 units, so thats only 5-6 subjects a sem. As for why they still want to play in other leagues, thats a question only those players can answer haha

I dunno maybe because of inflation and the rising prices of commodities? Some of these guys have big families din kasi. Actually those earning the 25k are for key role players pa, and there's different tiers for players in the pool pa, some earn 10-15k and the basic perks you expect when it comes to student athletes.

one thing also i see in Benilde is that most of their courses are skill based and not book based like Design and IT with Game Development so it will be easier for the players to pass.

skills based is much difficult..I get it spoonfed(book based) info is really bad haha
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
          1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

Almost the same pala with SBU but since CSB allows sgl, the players have the opportunity to earn 6 digits a month. Geez some of these players are millionaires even before graduating.

There is really a need to regulate these perks and allowances given to players. I just find it odd how a politician or a non practicing lawyer can afford to be a booster of a big program

Most of them don't even take those courses, mabigat pa course load ng mga yan. They mostly take shrim which is our hotel and restaurant management course which is mostly lab classes, some take business courses naman which is mostly reports and proposals like export management and marketing management. Not bad din since the curriculum of those courses are based internationally kaya lots of our former players who graduated, those who dont pursue a pro career, end up working abroad.

Yess they can pero only a handful of guys can really earn that, not everyone gets recruited and those who do, di naman lahat hinabol or may connection sa management or team officials haha. Atleast a couple of ncaa teams now can be competitive when it comes to recruitment, unlike before na beda lang talaga may capacity to get qualitt guys from the get go.

Its also good for the league that teams are slowly becoming competitive. The shift to GMA also did well for the league not perfect but atleast it got people to start watching or talking about the league.

I like what Mapua is doing. Keeping a low key recruiting strategy. Their pool has a good combination of rookies and rookie veterans.

Yes definetly, contrary to those uaap purists who keep on bashing ncaa calling em uaap gleague. Im actually fine with it sa gma, atleast very convinient to catch up on games compared to uaap. Coverage has been solid, besides most of target market peeps naman are the BCD classes, those who enjoy those pa celebrity kinks the gma does. If this brings in more people to watch games, then good for them Yeah its not perfect, but i dont really mind since i just tune in to watch the games. I just dont mind those segments im not a fan of.

To be honest, im envious of mapua and beda's jrs programs atleast may pipeline talaga to the srs team haha, benilde has to scour the the transfer market, the provinces, the states and the end of the bench guys from big schools just to get players. Pasipagan talaga to look out for players.

Fastbreak.ph reported that Jacob is most likely on his way to DLSU with Mike Cortez being the one who is handling the negotiations. Wonder why Mike is so keen on making Jacob to transfer. He still has Mikey. Wonder where the kid will play. It might be a package deal.

CSB kasi is a relatively young program. Slowly its been able to establish its own identity. My only concern is the commitment of the Lao's. Are they for the long term? What happens if they leave? Is another group coming in?

They have that vibe that Mike Cortez still wants his son to play in the UAAP. Heck the man won't even wear red in the finals haha. It's all good to be honest but of course it will look kind of bad for the NCAA

Yeah that news outlet isnt that reliable, most of their sources are buzzards din which are uncofirmed. No different from hearsay and speculations. Lets wait for some of the bedans here to break the news themselves, im sure mas in the know sila with regards to their team. From what i know thru a bedan booster, the goal for mikey is D1 or beda. Things might have changed but we'll see.

If he leaves good luck and thank you for helping SBU win the Championship.
