OT: still feels weird for a country this small we have 2 collegiate leagues. 2 finals that was both a success. hopefully someday the two leagues can merge.
Well......tell that to the uaap purists who keep on shtting the ncaa haha. Hayy the basketball fan in me hope we get to see a us ncaa kind of college basketball scene were different leagues will still be there, but there's a presence of out of conference games that will count in their records, not to mention March Madness to crown the national champs haha

Pretty hard replace a talent like him, for the coach naman, are they really sure that whoever they'll replace him with, will bring with him not only the success, but the respect of the players and community Topex achieved. We'll see then haha still, he already bet himself once by going to beda, he'll be betting on himself again if he chooses to transfer out as well.
Its a fallback since he doesnt really have that strong hold in his district, Mr. leni is in the way and so is Mike D..
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
      1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

Serious question tho, is he really interested in coming back to coach?

My guess, Anyang(abando's team) and Goyang(torralba's team) will open a slot next year. I feel abando will sign with a bleague team after his contract runs out while i think torralba won't be retained.
Sono already changing their pinoy import from torralba to cabagnot. Watch out for this kbl team, surely they'll be in the hunt for a younger prospect, ehem *cortez, ehem *escamis

They already got Nelle. And Bolick didn't really had a chance to show his stuff with them which is why it's understandable that he wanted to transfer to another school that'll give him more PT. Unlike them who only goes after finished products like Nonoy/Nelle.

Oftana was going to DLSU . They offered him a crazy package as well to transfer. On dlsu’s part its good business to just invest in transfers instead of umproven players.

I think he's to old to transfer by season 97 he was already 25 years old.

When will Topex leave? Is this confirmed bro?

KQ for sure after next season.

Well he already has offers from a couple of overseas pro teams, so don't see him staying once KQ leaves unless of course he finishes out his 3 year contract and find a bonafide KQ level talent as a replacement. Lots of things can still happen too, if they fail to defend the title, will the boosters be patient with him? Recent rookie coaches to win it with dlsu like Juno Sauler and Aldin Ayo only lasted 2-3 years with the team

Anyways with season 99 seniors basketball done, what's your way too early final 4 predictions for season 100? Me it would be:

Beda -even if jacob does leave, team is still pretty deep with the addition of the key transferees, not to mention having a full year with norman black, hoping to see big improvements from lina and the other bigs.

Benilde -with the best recruiting class csb ever assembled, team should be able to reach final 4 at the minimum, hoping that a year under rajko will finally pay dividends, only a question of chemistry and cohesion between basically two sets of teams, remnants of seasom 99 team a and the up and coming transferees from team B

EAC -most of the incoming recruits went under the radar but with a solid coach in jerson cabiltes, another year with gurtiza, team should be a lock for the final 4. Doromal, pagsanjan and manlapaz will give gurtiza all the help he needs in offense. Still need a legit bigman tho unless umpad of course develops overnight

Mapua -core still pretty solid even if boni and hernandez leaves. Escamis pretty much confirms him staying for season 100, not to mention solid low key transferees and team b guys in the pool too.

                      Darkhorses:

LPU -even with back to back final 4 failures, team should be intact other than losing enoch, success will probably depend on guadana stepping up offensively, further development of barba, bravo and cunanan and of course discipline of umali. Team b guys playing for pinoyliga looks solid as well

Perps -Assuming both nitura and roque stays(rumors of both leaving cooled off with saguiguit getting extended), team should be much better than they were last year when they started cold, remains to be seen tho who'll take over for razon as the leader and the floor general.

JRU -with JL and RY the only guys graduating, good for them to have their replacements already with the team in Argente and Ramos. Team should still be good, but this year was their best chance of finally qualifying for the final 4 again, with other teams also improving in season 100 they might get stranded in the middle of the pack again.

                      Still not there yet:

Arellano -most of coach chico's recruits will finally play next year, solid pieces to build on like bigman john capulong. Team B team looks solid too beating UP team B in the recent pinoyliga tourney.

Letran -team should improve upon a two win season, i mean cuajao will be back, atleast they'll be getting good players in pradella, guibao and estrada with solid young guards to build upon: Frosh of the year Garupil, incoming transferee nathan montecillo and jonas napalang. Still, the pending moving out of some of their guys does dampen their hopes a lot.

Baste -remains to be seen with how little we know with regards to their recruits. Losing desoyo calahat and sumudo should sting alot, but atleast they'll still have kallos and the backing of cuevas's with them.

Of course things could still change, players and coaches can suddenly leave, boosters and sponsors can suddenly drop a team, and of course teams have yet to start announcing incoming moves. Just hope season 100 is as crazy competitive season 99 was.
i think one key contributor to San Beda’s success is that they do not allow SGL players. Since it might disrupt team chemistry. Unlike Benilde and EAC who technically allow players to play in other pro leagues.

There's pros and cons to it. Thats one con to it, another of course is more risk of injury like what happened with gozum in the offseason. Tho for me it really helps in the personal development of the player, playing with and against semi pros and pros, being used to pro setup, the grind, getting to learn from diffrent coaches and systems, Ive seen this with ynot, and the rest of csb sgl guys. Even those from eac this season the season, cosejo, gyrtiza and maguiliano, incoming transferee doromal all grew as player playing as sgl. Other guys like letran's reyson, arellano's capulong, jru's dionisio, ssc-r's calahat all became great contributors to their teams as well among others.

^^ Why is CSB allowing its players to play in semi pro leagues? CSB provide perks and good training/ exposure to the their players. Unless their players play for Lao's commercial team.

The other con is , these players also have to study. I dunno how they can juggle with their academics with their bball career if they're playing all year round. Also , I don't want to sound callous but aren't they getting enough financial support from their schools?

The average allowance is around 25k excluding signing bonus and standard perks. That amount is enough to support a family.

Part of the agreement they have with team officials. Charles tiu himself isnt in favor of it, but allows it if it helps develop the players.
