They impeded the development of big men in the league. They took away scholarship grant to deserving players. Such a pathetic, insecure take from Padre DAmaso. Because the real reason behind it, Letranites were so threatened of San Beda catching up with them. Which they did in Season 88. From being the winningest team in the NCAA for decades, San BEda took that title away from them in 2012 and has been the NCAA's winningest team eversince with 23 championship to Letran's 20.
          Thanks for the info.

yeah, the bantay bata days. that was fun.

im putting bautista over anonuevo and he'll definitely be part of my closing 5 over cabanero. id also love to see liwag vs philips who are probably familiar with each other's games.

            • Nice fantasy match up. I think Nc boys will play them physical NC brand of game while the UAAP have advantage in KQ and Philips. Overall, nice match up and Im rooting for NC

Yeah i like jorick as well, might be even more deserving, i just threw in anonueva for his size since my ncaa lineup has boral and hubilla at forward spots haha. Even back then these games were hella fun and competitive

I agree, but it think the ncaa boys will play them fast om offense while the uaap will be more cerebral. While uaap has some height on them with phillips and qmb, i think the ncaa has lot more shooters that can go hot anytime.

                  • Surprisingly, Bravo is back for LPU. I thought he is done for the season.

                    • This lpu v eac game is really something. Everything on the line, both teams really giving their all. Actually talked to coach gilbert over the weekend, this is now or never for them. They need to win this since they still have benilde on friday.

                      • Good win for LPU, they control their destiny, a win vs the blazers on friday will seal their F4 bid (easier said than done though)

How about a 3 way tie for number 4 between the knights, generals and pirates? All 3 teams have a big possibilty of ending the elims at 9-9...what will be the scenario, how will it be resolved?

                        Comment

                        • With the lpu win today. If they win against benilde, they'll surely be in.

if letran or eac drop any of their last game, that team bows out.

If lpu losses and letran and/or eac wins. Playoff for the 4th seed. If all 3 teams tie, not sure what happens, there might be stepladder. Lpu leads in quotient so letran or eac might face off first, then whoever wins faces lpu. If no stepladder. I believe letran is last in quotient.

If multiple teams tied at number four I think they will go through a stepladder series to determine the 4 seed.

                            • Whether lyceum gets in or not. You gotta admire them for reaching this far. Lost their star player enoch valdez thru graduation and also 2 rotation guys that happened to be big pieces in their frontcourt in Shawn Umali and Jeoralan Omandac.

Started the season with two of their key players in bravo and guadania playing hurt with both eventually being forced to miss big chunks of the season and ofcourse the bravo incident against arellano. Lots of sorry losses.

Had they followed the so called 'script' they would prolly be near the bottom of the standings. Credit goes to the whole coaching staff, the vets that persevered in barba and cunanan and next men up that stepped up in villegas and daileg. Of the 3 teams i believe this lpu team is the most deserving to be in the final 4 just basing on what they went thru and the way they play.

If im being honest, didnt even have them in my final 4. But yeah kudos to the players and coaching staff, especially coach gilbert who imo is very underrated. He has good sense of all of his players, he adjust his system to fit his player's strengths. They know going to the season they'll be short handed on the post so this year they decided to play fast. Seems to be a player's coach as well, as he has everybody's respect and attention, and greatly cares for his boys. But the most important thing, he's a solid guy off the court as well. I got the pleasure of meeting him thru my work and has since become a friend of the family. He does coaching clinics in his home town in san pedro laguna and always active when it comes to assisting folks during calamaties. No wonder people urged him to run for the city council.
