If they lose today, they'll be eliminated. 7-9 and they still have san beda. Tiebrakers aint favoring them.

I have to question Allen Ricardo’s scrambling double team defensive scheme. Doubling anyone who has the ball even if its at the perimeter to force an early shot or turnover.

That will not work in this era. May be in high school basketball they will get away with it. But in college basketball it’s difficult.

        • Gotta love what roger ondoa brings to benidle. All heart and hustle. He has basically taken minutes from zenric jarque

He reminds of of hawkins from SBU's team B. Only difference i see is that ondoa is more athletic.

Yeah i see it, while ondoa is athletic, hawkins is more physical but yeah the heart and hustle are both there. Ondoa imo did a good job of defending the perimeter as he was able to stay infront of the speedy guards in miller and delfino. The rebounding has been magnificent. The pts are already a bonus. Hope coach charles tiu gives him more minutes especially against mapua.

Excited to see those 2 battle it out next season IF hawkins make it to team A.

Imo benilde copied the gameplan of letran past opponents in the second round Focusing the D on both cuajao and estrada, somehow limiting the duo to 23 pts, letting javillonsr shoot all those threes (8). After that letran just basically tried to put the ball in the ring, no set plays, and benilde took advantage while on offense did a good job with their passing drills leading to lots of open shots near the basket. Coach charles did a good job matching up bigger guys in sanchez and eusebio against estrada and cuajao. Even the wings oli and ondoa did a good job limiting the guards. Except for giving mowell morales big minutes in the 1st qtr, overall very good game plan. Ian Torres with a whopping +30 in +/- today.

Game against mapua should decide the number 1 seed.

This is what ive been saying. Seems like what allen ricardo's running letran isnt really working. Either because he doesnt have the right personnel or the other teams have already figured them out. This is why he wont be the headcoach for this team next year. For guys like jimboy, they need a better x and o's coach for their skills to be maximized.

Considering some of our guys are sick with the flu pa, still a good win. Turnovers were kept to the minimum and passing has been crisp. They did a good job of finding the open man. Good adjustments in these game overall

Speaking of passing. 30 team assists today.

That trap is easily broken through great passing and positioning. It will leave a man, and maybe a driving lane, open.

Credit to Benilde for their composure in breaking that trap. In the past, they usually succumbed to pressure defense.

They did a good job adjusting to it. Credit this to the system and chemistry along with the patience to look for the best shot. What boggles me is why allen ricardo didnt make any adjustments.

Yes. You have to love their motor. The better comparison of Ondoa would be ex Mapua Cardinal Kenneth Ighalo because both are more perimeter oriented players.
