Beda will be dangerous in the final 4 even with twice to beat disadvantage. Both Mapua and Csb maybe trying to avoid them.

San Beda will be San Beda and anytime you face the defending champs, you'll always need to bring your a-game. If im Charles Tiu, i'd avoid them in the final 4 if possible. As for the game kanina, it could have been anybody's ball game, same with the 1sr rd matchup. Sure san beda lost, but they were also without one of their top guards and their top big. If im csb, i'd want mapua and san beda to wear each other out since i believe if they matchup against one another in the final 4, it wont be a 1 game series.
But for now im still pegging mapua to be in the finals with csb. But sbu isnt far behind.

missed free throws, outrebounded, outhustled, outmuscled... MIT simply wanted it more..
SBU need players that have the DOG inside to do the intangibles.. players that have a chip on their shoulders and play with heart... tagle, tagala, calimag, jalbuena.. what a waste...

Technically Mapua won their Season 99 series matchup against San Beda 3-2.
The San Beda team of Season 99 was taller with Jopia, Cuntapay and Visser.

If csb and mapua both take care of business and win their next 2-3 games, that should be good enough for them to clinch a final 4 spot before the undas break. Coincidentally the supposedly magic number for a twice to beat spot in recent years has been 13 wins, which csb can achieve if they sweep the remaining games before the break.
Mapua has Arellano and Lyceum While St Benilde has Lyceum, EAC and Perpetual. On paper mapua's sched is easier with more winnable games left.
In theory san beda could also clinch a spot if all of the 6-6 teams drop their games and also both of their games before the break
Pretty exciting next few days for season 100 for sure.

is it crazy to say that Chris Hubilla is now the best player in a Mapua team that boasts the current MVP?
I knew he was a monster in the Jrs. He played with such force that even the LSGH Twin Towers had fits guarding
him. But I had reservations since he was way older than the competition. Turns out, he's too much to handle even in the Srs.

Benilde and Beda on to the playoffs of next5hoops. Benilde will go against New Era University, if they win, they face winner of diliman college v manila central university. San beda will face olivares college and if they win will face winner of la consolacion v perpetual binan. Other ncaa teams lpu and letran failed to qualify in the crossover quarterfinals.

Huge difference this season from last season. In season 99, San Beda had JAcob Cortez. This year, San Beda has Bryan Sajonia. A complete downgrade.
Season 99 saw the early departure of James Kwekuteye. And Yuri tasked Cortez as the replacement for Kwekuteye’s starting SG spot. I don’t see any difference as there will always be someone stepping up to the plate.
An improve number from Yukien and Jomel this year makes up the loss of Jacob’s 15ppg. Add Penny, Sajonia, Beast-marck and holdovers Nygel and Payosing we still have a competitive and playoff team.
The consistency of the SBU program has always been to make the playoffs (Final Four) every season. And San Beda has not missed the playoffs since 2005. Currently on a 17-season playoff appearance streak.
