  • CSB recruits Raffy Celis and SJ Moore are fitting really well within the system but its the other ex UAAP guys thats got me intrigued. Ex dlsu recruit Matt Jucom and Ex adamson player Jio Gonzaga

Jucom has the move set and potential thats screams "Alpha". If he improves his on ball defense, he could find himself in the lineup next year. Might even displace guys like Oli and Ondoa.

As for the 6'4 Gonzaga, he plays a lot like Mowell Morales, sweet shooting big, combo forward thats more polished in the paint. He's also a willing defender and a good passer. If he could develop his ball handling more, he and freshman irelle galas could be csb's replacements for graduating Mark Sangco.

As it is things are looking tight at positions 1-4 for the blazers next year that even if guys like ynot and sanchez do leave early, the lineup will still be deep.

Jucom really presents a log jam next season. Even if ynot leaves, that still leaves guys like oli, jarque, carillo and ondoa on the wings. Plus we still have nacua, moore, victoris and daja also in team B. As for sanchez' spot, itll prolly go to gonzaga but they may also use it either or both of gaspay and umali as both are one and done.

However Im more concerned at the center spot. The only way i see liwag staying is if benilde doesnt win it all this year. Either way we need another big. If he leaves after the season we're down to serrano, arciaga, umali and gaspay. All are solid guys but against the bigs of san beda and mapua next year, they might struggle with their size. How is the recruitment for those 2 bigs you mentioned before?

Well one of those bigs was joe gulapa, we were trying to recruit him thru nu coach mc abolucion, also a benildean. However mapua ended up getting him with a bettter offer. The other big, the filfor is still undecided last i checked before the season started.

I agree. Both guard and forward positions will still be loaded for the team but i envision a couple of "shock" departures or cuts for the lineup next season. Here's who i think they'll include

        G-Ancheta, Cometa, Torres, Cajucom
G/F-Moore, Celis, Jarque, Ondoa, Nacua, Jucom
        PF-Eusebio, Morales, Gonzaga, Galas
        C-(reserved),Serrano, Arciaga, Umali, Gaspay

        Graduate: Sangco,Turco
Demoted to team B: Carillo, Galas
Turn Pro early: Ynot, Sanchez and Liwag
        Cut: Oli

The reserved spot is their because i believe they'll be able to get that big by next season. If not they'll be good to go with the guys in the pool until then. Oli hasnt found his stroke yet and since his main contribution really is shooting, his spot may go to someone who can provide more for the team. Carillo and Galas have been good in their limited time and has shown flashes but due to the team being loaded in their positions, coaching staff may ask them to redshirt a year muna. In my opinion the year off could really help them a lot to improve their skill while preseving their playing years. And this isnt the first time they'll that. And of course the sga boys for me, championship or not will turn pro after the season.

Yeah this is still a solid lineup, even without that big, the size of our wings at 6'2-6'4 may kinda compensate it a bit. But yeah i still prefer having someone 6'6 or above. I dont see victoria in there, is he not improving? Same with jalalon or baliquig

The competion in their positions is just way too tough. Victoria has been decent but besides the defense and occasional playmaking, he really has nothing to offer. I dont know what happened to his shot, he seems to passive nowadays and when he shoots, its way off. As for jalalon and baliquig, both still have significant holes in their game that knocks them off the lineup. Infairness to jalalon tho, he's finally starting to look comfy in that pg role. There is hope for them, if cometa decides to leave early, one of them can get his spot. My bet tho is on victoria, maybe jalalon if he continues to improve.

Anyways we already have guys like angelo vanguardia and ike lim languishing in team b for years now. Both are really good players and could nab a spot if they tried out with another team.

They're staying put. Both on the mens bball and womens vball program. You know they'll leave if the recruitment of players has stopped. I mean for next season they manage to help benilde nab a handful of solid ex uaap guys. Same with the volleyball program, even with the departure of the fab 4, jerry yee has managed to recruit blue chips youngsters into the program.

He is. Thats why the letran gig doesnt look like a term one for him. Especially if gov has someone else in mind to take over coaching duties. He could still stay tho, since Gov and boss Frank naman are good friends, itll just be a small favor to him.

He's on track to take over converge full time after the season. While interim coach franco atienza is rumored to join the csb staff next season. As to whoever will take over for csb next season, lead assistant Pao Layug is on top of the list but Sga may offer it to aldin ayo. Tho ayo may also take the letran job if gov asks boss frank for him. He may not be even named the head coach there, they may name his lead assistant Mcjour Luib as the hc and have ayo as consultant.

Ahh coach atienza's son is already with team b right? Tho i think pao layug should get the job if ever. He's done a great job whenever charles tiu is not present. He also seems to have everyone's respect from the stars to the team b guys. Plus he's an analytics guy right? Always nice having one of those to have a practical approach when it comes to in game adjustments. And as long the rest of the staff like coaches: gabby severino, carlo tan and ty tang are still on board, they should be fine.

Watched the replay and they all look promising. Reyes, Miller and Lopez will be the remedy for the RL's lack of firepower next season.

Lopez is not a team a material imho too many forced shots and mostly bad shot selection. He is good for team b only like abatayo lol.
