If san beda can out shoot letran in 3's, limit letran's bigs, especially Santos and javillonar, and lessen their 2nd chance points, it will be a winnable game for them. Imo luck has been a big factor in that 3 game win streak, 2pt wins against benilde and eac, tas triple ot game naman against the perps. In all 3 games letran was behind in the turnover battle and pts in paint.

If they want to build up a big lead, beda should force a lot of to's and capitalize on it, score na agad. You're right, if the game is close when the last qtr comes, letran will be harder to defeat. And of course FTS hahaha. Letran is a good ft shooting team, cant lag behind them in the ft line.

San Beda's plethora of mediocre point guards will be abused, taken advantage of and will be destroyed by LEtran point guards. While Jimboy Estrada will toy around Sajonia and JAvillonar and KEvin Santos will dominate Andrada and Jomel Puno. Allen Ricardo will outcoach Yuri Escueta and the Letranites will have a field day in Socmed talking thrash to the Bedans.

Two words: "Jacob Cortez". San Beda had arguably the second best guard in the ncaa last season 99 behind eventual ROY/MVP Clint Escamis. If only JAcob didnt transfer to Taft, SAn Beda still has a good chance of winning a back to back even with a 3-3 record. Without him, its a very long shot. San Beda's point guard play is atrocious as fvck. And the Bryan SAjonia that we all expect to be our saviour is a fraud. I was expecting him to play the way Jimboy Estrada was for LEtran. Big time shotmaker and creator. But after 6 games, what we witnessed is a trigger happy undersize guard.

It’s just easier last year for SBU because they had a set hierarchy on offense. When the offense is easier and they know their roles it’s easier for everyone to play defense .

Also Jacob Cortez was actually defended like a first option last year and he was inefficient but he still applied a lot of pressure at the rim and spacing. He really leveled up this year athletically by i think talking his diet and weight training seriously.

This is what ive been saying ever since the preseason. The red flags were all there for us to see. The lack of a true alpha, the lack of a big man rotation and the underwhelming performance of the new recruits. I remember someone telling me off that its just the preseason, that after the us training and when ncaa comes around everything will be in order. Well 6 games in and nothing has changed. Sajonia is still inconsistent, the bigs cant hang with the bigger teams and thw new recruits have been disappointing nonetheless. Thats why between them and the cardinals, mapua has always been benilde's biggest challenge for the season 100 crown. We'll see, still a couple games til the halfway point but they need to rack up wins especially coming to a crucial stretch in the 2nd rd.

Sajonia really needs to step it up and stay consistent. Guys like andrada and payosing are more efficient as supplementary scorers, usually the ones who makes plays to relieve the pressure from go to guys like Sajonia. If sajonia isnt clicking both are forced to create which would be a problem as both are not great shot creators. Other than him, the elder Calimag is another viable option and should be unleashed.

The way i see it there are two types of team compositions. First is the one were you have you a solid go to guy surrounded by competent supplementary scorers. Imo Mapua and San Beda falls in this category, maybe LPU and Baste as well. Mapua has escamis surrounded by guys like cuenco, mangubat and hubilla. For these teams to be successful, the performance of the go to guy is key, if he is caught lacking their team losses (i.e. the 2 mapua losses had escamis shoot a combined 8 for 30, the 3 sbu losses had sajonia shoot 12 for 37)

While the the other category is where a team has multiple guys that can create, but none really dominating the scoring. Benilde, EAC maybe letran and perps are examples of this as well. For a team like this to be successful someone different has to lead to the team in each game. As charles tiu have said, "Dapat iba iba mag step up every game". Meaning the unpredictability of the team is a big asset. Now the issue these teams can have is if no really steps up to the plate like the benilde loss or only 1 guy has been stepping up every game despite the presence of other solid options like eac with gurtiza while having pagsanjan and dormal, or the perps with MGC while having pagaran and boral.

Yeah, SBU's free throw percentage is abysmal this season. Sajonia and Payosing needs to step up big time.

The october 6 games will be rescheduled on october 8, joining the lone game on that day the beda v mapua. All those games will now be played in moa arena.
