I asked the op of the umali vid, what happened was that olivares player drove to the basket and umali met him with a block. Olivares player who is confirmed to be former perpetual player Jeremy Guarino immediately fell to the ground and while doing so pulled umali with him leading to the both of them stumbling upon each other on the floor. Umali got pissed immediately hit guarinos head with a closed fist. It led to a dq foul and umali decided to pack up his stuff and leave. Thats when guarino went near him as he exited with his stuff, still barking at umali, who was already hot decided to approach him. Both continued to bark to one another, provoked, umali took the punch. In my perspective, both were at fault. While i dont condone any sort of violence, you dont pull someone to fall on the floor with you. Especially someone the size of umali. You'll just end up hurting the both of you. Its also not smart to keep provoking the guy even as he exited. Thats just a brawl waiting to happen. Officials did a piss poor job as well. Someone should have escorted umali out, or led him to another exit. They shouldnt have also continued the play immediately especially if the recipient of the dq foul is still in the court. Both coaching staff i think has some blame too. Csb should have assigned someone to escort him out maybe a teammate or another staff. While Olivares should have sat out guarino too, have him cool down. Anyways it is what is. This should be an eye opener for everyone involved, i just hope we dont see this again in the ncaa. You do not have permission to view this gallery.

This is a minor tournament for team B players and non-league schools. Conditions in these games are not much different from barangay ligas and sometimes worse. Most of the time these games are for free, there's no security and you don't even know who's inside the gym. Can't expect everyone involved to be on top of everything.
Heavy penalties even in these minor games should be implemented to avoid this type of circumstance. If Amores was penalized heavily for punching Belmonte in that preseason game before, maybe the Amores rampage could have been avoided.
