Those jerseys are atrocious haha. But he does look great in the green and white.

Meanwhile, San Beda seems still at the “figuring out” stage. This could be an effect of the late decision for its final lineup. I mean, during the offseason, you rarely see them play together…time will tell whether they would be able to peak through the long season…but with the close gaps between all the teams, you need to jack up wins early in the season…
Their first game against mapua is the closest challenge so far. Mapua leads for 3 quarters and not until the last 4mins of the game.

Haha nothing beats the throwback ones from last year. Anyways is nacua still with the team? Havent spotted him in any of the team B games recently.

Then continued with the PSL stint in January with Sanchez and Ynot in the MPBL. In that same month CSB lent Liwag and Sanchez for SGA’s stint in the Dubai Invitational.

San Beda started late. They gave an extended vacation to the Team A guys who won the crown. Then we had the Payosing holdout. SBU’s first practice (combined Team A and B) was early February. By that time CSB was miles ahead in terms of chemistry. And knee surgeries of Lina and Tolentino complicated things further for SBU’s S100 preparations.
How is tolentino's injury? Is he still with SBU?

I guess Beda could say that this is just a "learning experience". Hehehehe.

Also, maybe they should stop using pure team b players in pre season tourneys. I kinda miss the days when we use our team a guys to play in tournaments like pccl and filoil.

agree with this, if the issue they are citing has something to do with chemistry.. fielding the team A during preseason could have helped build the familiarity amongst the team members..

                • This Benilde team fights harder than last year's.

                  • When the 3s are falling and with this good ball movement, CSB are really unstoppable. They really are getting the Toroman system right.
They also seem to have more killer instinct this time.

                    • What a performance for benilde. Again seems like everyone in the team is just hungry for that chip. Up almost 30, they didnt pull on the breaks and continued executing on offense. This was one of the the things last year's team was missing. Hope they would continue it all the way to the playoffs.

Kudos to MGC, kid's gonna be a star, maybe the next scottie for the perps. Hope they'll still feature him next year even with sleat and casinillo on board.

And the team is very deep even with liwag having an offnight offensively. The beda boys picked up the slack.

                        • A lot of people still mistakenly believes that this csb team will choke when it matters the most. I really find it hard to believe. Besides already beating 3 of the best teams this year, they won big against a rebuilding team in perps. The coaching staff is doing a good job in keeping the boys feet in the groud and focused on their oponents. Doesnt matter who it is. Expect them to give it their all and follow the system.

Even if you watch the interviews, it really feels like everyone has bought in into it, its not about one man anymore, its all about the team now. Thats why even known ball hogs in Sanchez, after 2 bad games, has suddenly found his groove with the team.

Another thing they missed, most of the new players this year came from champion teams and winning programs. You have Ancheta with CEU, Torres and Ondoa with Immaculada, Eusebio with UP, even Carillo with the baby falcons....all won a championship with their old teams, add to that of course the San Beda transferees who came from a solid program. All of these helps especially when establishing the right environment, a winning mentality. So yeah maybe they wont sweep but this season has to be championship or bust to them. Especially by next year, the window to win it all will tighter with a lot of teams improving.

You guys have a much better mentality this time around. You execute and you fight. That's gonna go a long way.

Your roster's well-constructed too. Hope we might get a few Gilas prospects. Hehehehehe.

Yes, hopefully haha. Pero as charles tiu have said, has to be one game a time.

Hmm siguro gilas prospect for me would be Ynot, especially if he further develops his decision making. The defense and shot creating is there, size at 6'1 is good as a Pg. Sanchez as well, i'd like to believe he has higher ceiling than Oftana, maybe Eusebio too if he masters that outside shot. Liwag is kinda undersized as a big but maybe as stretch 4 he can manage. Lastly Sangco who can excel in a point forward role.
