  • The Taft school actually did not even consider to recruit Jacob coming from HS because Jacob that time was just a second stringer PG. Nobody gave this kid a second look except for San Beda.

San Beda gave him all the breaks, training and opportunity to shine and he delivered. To his credit, Jacob's mindset made him an elite player. Not afraid to take the big shot.

Now that the rough diamond has been polished and sparkled, the father has put up the "for sale" sign.

Its gonna be Gozum only as far i know. No one from the current csb lineup. Heard they trying to tap KQ, Cagu and Lebron lopez. Those 3 are probably the only amateur guys who's gonna be included, the rest should be made up of recently graduated peeps or those players under the phenom and EOG group.

Id rather Sanchez than Gozum at this stage. Gozum is in-between position changing.

This. I honestly think it's all good once he officially transfers.

Charles tiu wants him and company to focus on team A for now, as it is sanchez and company have already joined loads of tourneys outside team sanctioned events

i highly doubt that mvp will allow himself to be drawn into negotiations by college players, if he can dismiss someone like mikee williams what more a college player?

i know people who have worked with mvp - executives, employees, business partners and suppliers - and all of them say that the man is all business and knows his "stature", such that he won't take kindly to people who will either play hardball with him or milk him for a little bit more money.

maybe its the bedan boosters who did this and not mvp, but then again P125K monthly? wow ....

the late bong tan was supporting his buddy ironcoach from the sidelines, its not farfetched to picture that ue with bong tan's support can raise millions for the ue program.

having said that, the financial support that comes their way is still modest compared to what ateneo, lasalle, nu and during pre-pandemic times san beda were spending on their programs.

good starting salary as pba rookies get 200k right.. What this young guys need to realize is that as you age your income should go up and not the opposite..
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
                    1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

There are too many leagues also that a player can earn more than the rookie max salary in the Pba. Marketing wise it seems that the Uaap and Ncaa has become a better tool.

The window for a professional career in basketball is becoming shorter. If the money is there and is a long term deal, I say grab it. If its a short term deal but an Oczon like deal, grab.

UAAP probably, NCAA nah. Im pretty sure the MPBL finals had more online viewers than the NCAA.

Viewership alone does not determine marketability. How come SBU has sponsorship deals? How come companies like BPI, PGA cars, etc made a marketing pitch on the recent SBU championship if its not marketable?

And the PBA teams arent some of the biggest conglomerates in the country?

Companies probably see how GMA is investing in the NCAA but personally I don't see that investment meaning much anytime soon.

Because usually there 2 type of basketball players some peak at early 20's(Mike Cortez, Kiefer Ravena, Terrence Romeo) and some do well as a late bloomer (Don Trollano)

changed my mind. I think it was indeed Jacob Cortez. Suddenly remembered his interview with Naveen where he admitted of transferring to DLSU before Season 99 but he stayed with Beda.p
