NU is pretty stacked. They're just an FSA away from Final 4 and contending for a Finals spot in S87

I really want to see if DLSU can get away with playing Jacob and Kean together. It looked nice at times for team B buts thats against inferior competiton. Baclaan being fast and a good slasher and finisher with contact. I think DLSU will try to start the two until it becomes untenable.

If the starting 4 is Jacob/Kean/Mike/Mason. I think the fifth guy would be Abadam to provide defense and height.

Also Baclaan will be fine defensively. NU wouldn’t play him heavy mins if he was bad. They have higher defensive standards there since they can’t score. PG defense in the uaap is overrated anyway

Don't get me wrong, Jacob Cortez is very talented but he ain't The Cool Cat. Peak Mike Cortez with La Salle was like a bigger and stronger Jason Castro on steroids. The late, great Ron Jacobs wanted Cortez to be the starting PG for the RP team back in the 2002 Asian Games. It just didn't pan out because Jacobs had a heart attack while he was building the team.

He is nowhere close to Mbala. 3 Years, one Championship . Thats no wheere near the top of UAAP players. Thats just too little games played. He never looked like he was the consistently the best player on the floor in finals.
Got taken out of the game during game 1. Game 3 he played like shit and wasnt getting the ball.

Jeron wasnt as dominant but give 5 mythical player caliber years and 2 finals MVP awards.
Renren Ritualo is still the GOAT Green Archer. KQ just happens to be the first from DLSU to hopefully make it to the KBL or Japan B-League

While i agree that kb will be liability on defense, because of his size, Jacob cortez was a decent defender back in san beda, just wasnt asked to do to much due to the offense revolving around him back then. Tho i think they have to be staggered for it to work.

As for the other 2 recruits i think pablo has somewhow improved his agility, he'll most probably confined to defending 4's and bigger 3's, same with amos. Good thing motor mike will still be there to be their defensive anchor.

Overall, still dont think this team will have major dropoff likew what ateneo experienced. Motor mike will still be there, Austria, gollena and abadam and dungo in the wings so they'll still probably be a final 4 team at the worst. They just need to figure out their roles and who'll takeover when needed.

Besides, other than up and ust, which other team can realistically overtake them? Ateneo is still rebuilding, feu has internal problems, ue will have a new staff. Maybe adamson and nu will be much better next season but i dont think it will he enough for them to force out dlsu.

Remogat’s another set of problems on his own. That man has a quicker trigger than JD and is already a better shooter and pick and roll manipulator at this point. If he could post big numbers as the main focus of other team’s defenses in S86, imagine what he can do when the opponents have other players to watch out against too.

Also, can Nwankwo take the FSA spot back from Henry?
DLSU is gonna depend on Mike more for scoring and that takes away from some of his special traits (aka his offensive rebounding and defense).

In Game 3, DLSU went a lot to Mike for points, but that contributed a lot to UP finally outrebounding La Salle.

Hasn't Amos improved his defense? IRC he had a block shot in the game against HK.
