As great as KQ is, he isn't the greatest UAAP player in the last 24 years. Kouame, Mbala, Ritualo, Parks, and Arwind are ahead of KQ in the overall rankings.

        • The other guy in the coaching staff who snubbed Topex, is that blogger- turned money-ball analyst, Ryan Alba?

The jumpshot is what surprised a lot of people, I still remember when a lot disagreed when I said he can play as a wing. Majority only saw him as an undersized big who can pass.

The thing I noticed with him is great work ethic. The way he improved his physique, skills, etc shows someone who is a gymrat (including playing wherever as much as possible). He's obsessed with basketball, and all the greats have that trait and it's what keeps them improving.

Next leap really would be laterals and ball handling. It absolutely gets ugly when he has to create against physical players. His dribbling will unlock his passing

KQ doesn't have a lot of quickness and goes low by bending his back instead of lowering his hips. He's got to open up those hips through stretching, low horse-stance dribbles, leg-split dribbles, etc. Getting low that way will also help lats. And footspeed drills.

He can study how Kawhi (and Giannis) handles the ball. They're all muscular, have long limbs and big hands. Giannis/Kawhi gets away with manipulating the ball by gripping and uses strength and length to protect the ball.

I don’t think he has the body type or flexibility to get low like that tbh. Having the ankle and hip flexibility are traits that make some players unique. It’s not a be all end all but he does have limitations, it’ll be interesting if he can come up with a unique way around it

                    • My prediction remains UP will win this series. No Abadam, lack of shot creator outside of KQ for DLSU while UP is fielding a complete and arguably the deepest roster in the amateurs in recent memory. I can't think of a deeper team.

ADMU had a roster with 16/16 making it pro. Season 82 iirc only Jolo Mendoza , Daves and Verano not be able to become consistent starters in the pro’s. Daves and Verano are in the rotation as well. Of that team only Wong is not playing but he basically retired instead of gettin cut.

That team would probably beat both UP and Dlsu 2-0

This is my answer as well. Both teams this year would get clobbered by that Ateneo team. How quickly people forget LOL.

                          I mean let's do a comparison for comparison's sake:

                          Kouame >>> QMB
Matt Nieto and SJ Belangel >>> Cagulangan and Feliclida
                          Ravena > Lopez
Isaac Go >. Gani Stevens/Dikachi Udodo
Aaron Black, Tyler Tio, Gian Mamuyac, Adrian Wong > Torres, Alarcon, Abadiano, Fortea

Yeah, I don't think I'd pick any of the UP guys over any of the Ateneo guys for any position to be honest.

And they just fit better. Had better chemistry overall.

Asitio was the starting 2 guard

LOL. he's acting out off emotions. I had the impression before, that his takes were all data-driven. Now he acts like Topex antics were somewhat measurable and quantifiable, to warrant that kind reaction from him.

                              • Also f all these handshakes. If you don’t like the other team no need to shake and show fake sportsmanship if you don’t want to. They don’t want to shake hands it’s cool and no big deal
