If Belmonte is in, he is forced to defend against either KQ or Mike Phillips. He can't handle any of those two, they wlll just eat him alive.
Briones, while taller, is slower than most of DLSU's guards who he is tasked to defend. Just look at how Dungo easily ran past him in that last play in the R2 game.
Belmonte and Briones to me are similar to Raven Gonzales of DLSU. They're good players on offense, but have limitations on defense.
Jacob Bayla on the other hand gets manhandled too easily on defense. Needs more improvement in that aspect of the game. He moves around very well in their offensive sets, I will give him that. But if we go by "defense wins championships", they need Abadiano more than they need Bayla.

La salle will bite up to do the grit and grind game as they cannot match up to up fire.power but they havean elite offensive talent in kq and an elite grit and grind big with mike the rest will get tbeir offense thru effort..To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

Favorites are precisely based on consensus as someone pointed out above. In sports betting, favorites are based on who the consensus think will likely win.
If UP wins the championship, don’t come back to everyone here and say—- I told you so, UP are the favorites. If UP wins, it just means the favored team did not win, which happens in sports (underdogs do win sometimes).
Let me spell it out for the last time: UP is the clear favorite because of their undeniable abundance of talent. Your argument, based solely on their recent performance, is shortsighted and reactionary. It completely ignores the fact that their performance is within their control. Two underwhelming games don’t diminish their chances, especially when they finished strong and enter the Final Four fully healthy, while DLSU is without their starting shooting guard for the rest of the season most likely and with their main man missing majority of their training camp in preparation for the Final Four.
Focus on the bigger picture instead of cherry-picking meaningless minutiae.

This is the thing I said in Gilas thread, Tim Cone makes Gilas a feel good experience, for UP maybe now the opposite but hopefully now they can turn on the switch in the games that matter, and we all know their capability, I always see them play better in filoil /abroad than in the actual uaapTo becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

This conversation boils down to one thing: I’m presenting a valid point (UP being the clear favorites), and you’re fixating on semantics. Once again, you’ve missed the forest for the trees, nitpicking irrelevant details that have nothing to do with the core argument I’m making.

UP is your favorite to win. They are not the favorites to win if we are talking about who is favored in a sports landscape.
Take the L and stop saying we don’t understand your point. You’re the only one here who has a habit of being condescending.

Did you seriously think that pointing out my ability to recognize strawman tactics somehow invalidates my stance?
All you’ve done is misrepresent my argument to create something easier for you to attack—classic strawman behavior. Instead of engaging with what I’m actually saying, you’ve once again derailed the conversation and completely missed the point.
Not once did you address my arguments—you just repeated your premature claims like a broken record.
If you can’t keep up, just admit it. It's OK. I'm willing to help you out.
