Until they show they can beat DLSU, they won’t be favored this season. DLSU is just the worst match up for them personnel wise.
If UP wants to win the championship this season, they need to stop giving token minutes to some guys and shorten their rotation. Problem is there’s really no able sub for Cagulangan (Felicilda is not it) or QMB (yeah even Gani sucks).
If DLSU wants to win, just attack QMB. Let Cagulangan do it all himself just like the R2 encounter.

And after a two game skid against DLSU and NU, people were already counting UP out. lmao. Alarcon going for 33 piece shows the insane depth and talent they have. They're still the favorites.
If you ask 10 people knowledgeable people who is likely to win the uaap championship . Majority would say dlsu. That would make them the favorites. Defending champion’s and the 1seed beating the only other contender both times is a favorite .

DLSU are the favorites. UP are likely to meet them in the finals. Things like 3 point luck will determine who is champion. The gap between the two isnt that big that randomness wont matter. The games will have to be played at the end of the day and both can be upset in the Final Four I would think although DLSU losing would be a bigger shock. Forthsky, Cabanero and Tounkara are really good.

So no, I'm not inclined to listen to these "experts" about their opinion. They're fickle. Their opinions change moment to moment as they allow their emotions to cloud their judgement.

Favorites would mean a consensus. Not your own personal favorite. The gambling odds also favor dlsu making them the favorite. See a trend it’s not your own opinion that gives the favorite title.
In what universe would a first seed , 2-0 against the other team not be the favorites. But do you since it’s clear that’s it’s your personal opinion not the consensus as why it’s a debate.

Even during the offseason—long before QMB joined the roster—I confidently stated that UP is the most talented team in the league. Back-to-back losses or even a lackluster elimination round doesn’t shake that belief.
Winning a championship requires a combination of factors: luck (like staying healthy and hitting hot streaks) and talent paired with smart adjustments. While luck is beyond anyone’s control, I’m confident that UP has mastered the controllable aspects, setting them up for success.
