And what about DLSU? Danding Cojuangco gave them the poor coconut farmers' money. DLSU even gave Danding an award.

What about DLSU? Whether there's actual proof that they used that money to fund DLSU, I don't see La Salle fans acting like hypocrites.

UP fans are notorious for acting holier than thou and for their virtue signaling. When pressed, they always perform some mental gymnastics to justify their sh*t.

      • This is an unlikely scenario but it should also be what would be best for Gilas since it gives KQ a long rest.

La Salle fans are the biggest virtue-signalers and hypocrites in the UAAP:

          1. Calling out UP for its alleged POGO-funded program yet forgetting that La Salle benefitted from Danding's Coco Levy fund money for decades. Half of La Salle's championships belong to the Filipino people. lol

          2. Calling out other teams for talent hoarding yet forgetting that they basically stole Mason Amos from Ateneo.

          3. Calling out other teams for dirty play when their own coach Topex built a career out of spitting at other players. And mind you, this thing is well documented. lol

La Salle fans should stop their good boy schtick. Your team is just as degenerate as everyone else.

If Udodo is supposed to be the problem, then how come he's included in the shortchanged players? The problem is over-recruitment. There is a shortage of 6'7+ players in the country, if they were in other teams they would play significant minutes.

When the underdog National University Bulldogs stunned title favorite University of the Philippines with a 20-point blowout last Sunday, many dismissed it as a fluke. Some suggested the Bulldogs got lucky, or that UP was simply off their game. As a protective head coach, Jeff Napa took offense to these comments, insisting that NU won […]

              • Mike is looking like Kim Jongkyu - very suitable in a pick and roll play.

                • If Mike Philipps going to spend all of his college years, would that be possible for him to be eligible as local right after graduating or before getting drafted in PBA? I think the timing will also be good as it will be right in time for the 2027 WC and hopefully 2028 Olympics.

I could really see him as the best stopper the Philippines could have right now.

yup. look at pre. in an importless team, he'd probably be forced to play center. he's doing a great job as a face up 4 now. with tounkara, ust has at least tried to play crisostomo as a 4. he's shooting jumpers and has sometimes extended his range to 3. doubt that happens if ust played importless. DLSU, which hasn't overrecruited 5's for this season, have mike and raven playing well.

also, most imports in the uaap have been mid to terrible and are not impacting local's minutes anyway.

Over-recruitment will have a negative effect on player development.
if you look at the sheer volume of recruits both teams have made, i think DLSU beats UP. it's just that i feel like DLSU has been more strategic in their (over)recruitment as they have recruited with the aim of addressing specific needs.

UP on the other hand just recruited bigs who all played similar styles. kinda feels like they recruited some of these guys just to prevent them from going to other teams.

Let's be honest. Calls favor guards in the UAAP just like in the previous NBA seasons. Guards can charge through defenders in the air and always get a foul call. There's no principle of verticality when it comes to driving guards. Centers have to literally jump backwards to avoid calls. This is a high level defensive skill that also needs high speed laterals that is above Fiba standards IMO. These guys need to be slimmed down in order to catch-up. The side effect is they become weaker on offense and rebounding. Case in point, Malick Diouf. To date only Kouame has been equally dominant on offense and defense. The moment they are strong and bulky enough to be dominant in the paint they usually are slower on laterals so they opt to just be slimmed down. Also, the physicality allowed on post-ups is more. Case in point was FEU's FSA during RJ Abarrientos' time. A strong offensive player but with the unequal physicality on defense allowed he was overall a negative because he could be defended with strong physicality but he could not apply physicality on guards on defense.

If calls were more like Fiba the FSA's would be eating our guards on defense by their sheer height and reach.

                            • Nokura had another outstanding game: he had 30-9-8 blocks.

Also, Miguel Yniguez had back to back great games. He's a big guard that can score, rebound and pass. He reminds me of Dwight Ramos.

                              • How many playing years does EJ Gollena have left? If I'm not mistaken, he served a residency year before he is eligible to play for La Salle as he came from Lyceum.
