  • Can anyone confirm if the awards are based on a per game or a total accumulated stats? Cos if it's the latter, I expect a new MVP to be crowned this year.

    • Another tough loss for nu
Who are the graduating players this season for nu?

      • This year's NU team is one of the most unluckiest teams ever. From entering the season with final 4 potential, to losing their fsa and a couple of games on game winners. Gotta feel bad for enriquez and company.

            • Congrats to new dad KQ, looks like he got busy right after winning the championship + mvp last December.

Probably a factor for him opting to stay in the country this year. More reason to go pro now.

I foresee teams with 2 or more FSAs in their pool to push for their right to replace them in the middle of the season if their current FSA gets injured or bails on them.

Or maybe allow teams to put in 2 fsa's in the lineup, playing only 1 at a time. This could allow teams to utilize them depending in matchups. For example ust has 2 very different fsa's tho both skilled. Tounkara who was included in the lineup this year is their traditional big, while the other one, osang plays on the wing which can be a matchup nightmare for slower bigs.

I think a reserve rule should be implemented. Have maybe 3 players (including reserve FSA's) in reserve that could capably replace any player who suffers a season-ending injury or a long term injury or has a season-ending incident.

As for the two FSA rule, I like that suggestion, especially if both FSA's are role players. Issue will be when you have two players like Ben Mbala or Precious Momowei, both go-to guys and heavy minute players.

                      • Prediction: there will be a new season MVP, maybe JD.

Given that KQ will miss games to care for his new born and his Gilas duties, this will affect his numbers thus adding a deterrent to his MVP bid.

But it's still a toss up between DLSU and UP in the finals.

I'd rather just have one reserve spot for the FSA in case of injury.

Adding other reserve players isn't necessary. At any given season, teams don't really give minutes to the last 2-3 guys at the end of the bench. They're already the guys waiting in case of injuries. Probably if the season was much longer it would make more sense.

As for having 2 FSAs (one on the floor at a time), it will give too much advantage to high-budget teams.

Nah. KQ will still be MVP. He doesn't need to miss games to care for his baby.

This was already implemented early 2010s but the board decided to have one FSA per school.

                              NU had Aroga and Betayene.
UE had Mammie and Arafat and so on

If I remember correctly, even in mid-2000s this was already in place. Ateneo had Zion Laterre and Kirk Long and I remember as a kid I was confused why they never played at the same time.

FWIW, NCAA also had this rule just recently before our "visionary" board members banned FSAs. San Beda in 2019 had Arnaud Noah and Donald Tankoua as their FSAs and both are in the lineup.
