  • DLSU is also over recruiting and hoarding especially if none of their players leave. If KQ and Poli leave plus others it isnt so bad.

Admu during their prime was good succesion planning without over doing it. Their young guys back then were learning the ropes and didnt deserve playing time but all 16 made it pro . The only person who was shafted by playing time was Aaron Black.

It's not the draft that's the issue. It's that he played already five years, and unlike what UP's press releases are saying, he is not considered to have played only four years of college ball, the COVID exception does not apply to him.

Im all for giving choices to the players but 6 years playing college ball is way too much.

I also love the two playing year reduction rule but 1 yr red shirt.

Admu was in great position after they won the championship

Best college PG in Forth, Amos and Lopez coming through then it blew up on their face

Yeah and his 23, imo he should entertain pro offers already and not play down in the uaap. Dude average almost a double double in div 1 last year so i think he'll do well in the pros.

As for ateneo's downfall, is it right to assume it all started when lebron lopez instead commited to up or when forthsky left?

Lopez leaving was really a money thing but they got cocky and thought they could still be good with a lot of rookies.

Padrigao was more important given the pg play last year and in think hes legit really good was their best local player their last chip.

              • La Salle fans after UP acquired Millora-Brown: That's not fair, he should be in the pros!

La Salle fans after getting Amos from Ateneo: *crickets*

The pot calling the kettle black once again

I think he's in the same boat as KQ: same age (23), too good for the UAAP, and both should already turn pro.

Yes, both should already be in the pros.

I also admired how ADMU was balancing competitiveness and development. There was a succession, mid-term, long-term plan.

When SJ left early, Padrigao, who barely played the previous season stepped up and proved he was ready. Then after Kouame leaves, Padrigao who was in line to take the mantle also leaves. And yet they still exceeded expectations with a bunch of new players. Then the guys who stepped up and made that possible like Jared Brown, Ballungay and now Amos are gone.

It will now be back to back years of mostly new guys with only Koon their only 2-way player vet. They haven't even played with a proper big or an FSA.

Man, if they still make the final four, hats off to them.

                      • Wow, the hypocrisy in here.

Prime Ateneo was hoarding blue chippers, and even stashing them in their Team B.

But you say it's "succession." Now that they're losing the recruiting game.

When La Salle and UP are in their prime now,

                        "hoarding"

I am not even in Ateneo, but this is simply not true.

During the 5-peat era, and the subsequent 3-peat, the guys in the Ateneo's Team B were not blue chip recruits. Most of them are players from their juniors program who needed a few more years before they get elevated to the seniors team.

I’m not from ADMU too. I kept track of that Norman Black-led teams in that era and I didn’t see ADMU hoard in recruitment.

I guess the symptom of hoarding is when player/s leave due to playing time and made a name for another team or were key players in the rotation.

DLSU in the later years Franz Pumaren and short time of Dindo Pumaren were guilty of this as I have observed. Nico Elorde, Ponso Gotladera, Allan Mangahas, Dan Sara, Gab Banal and Louie Vigil come to mind. The most popular were Bolick and Cagulangan.

For ADMU do not include their so-called “magnificent 7” because it is an open secret that they have academic deficiencies.

It cant help that Tab has Indonesia rumors. When the rumors happened, the answer of Ateneo is to look at his contract. Now that his contract is expiring, what next?
