  • Qatar is no slouch this year. I remember someone from Qatar who played well in the BWB Camp where Andy was also invited. I just hope there will be no upsets against Jordan or Qatar. If we'll face Korea in the QF, we have a good chance of qualifying to the world cup as Korea usually struggles against opponents with good athleticism.

That's Mousa, though he is not eligible anymore for this age group.

Yes, they are also the champions of their zone.

        • What happens when you get the cheapest coach available for youth teams? That's right. You get the cheapest performance records.

          • What is the update on Kiefer Alas injury?
will he make it to the 2024 FIBA AsFIBA-18 tournament next month. Hope he does becoz Batang Gilas U-18 team badly needs his services.

              He's born-2006 though so he's eligible in this year's U18 tourny.

Oh I stand corrected, thanks. Going to be tough for Gilas I guess.

                  • Apparently, he is now a D1 player for Dayton already. A projected 1st round draft pick in 2025 Mock Drafts.

I am not trying to overrate them but the No.2 seed for them looks possible with that Big 3 of them.

He is also producing good numbers for their seniors team.

                    • I really think the SBP couldnt care less about our youth teams. If they had any intention of making a coaching change it should have happened after that disastrous world cup stint where Gilas went 0-7. And to think there so many accomplished coaches the SBP could tap to work with the Batang Gilas program, SMC has a deep pool of coaches they could assign to lead that program but I guess we could only hope the criticisms and constant bashing makes Joke Reyes quit!

i guess the 2-3 months out that i mentioned is more accurate than the 3-4 weeks that was initially reported

                          Oh! That's sad news.

I just wonder, do we have a player in our U-18 who can defend & limit this Mousa kid? Remember, this kid is a 6-foot-6 natural wingman. If we put our 6-foot-5/6-foot-6 guy on him, that Pinoy 6-6 guy is a natural big man so he may not have the laterals & quickness to stay in front of Mousa. On the other hand, if we put our natural wingmen on Mousa, our wingmen would be giving up 3 to 4 inches in height against Mousa. It would have been better if we have some athletic 6-4 Fil-am wingmen on the team.

Bad news is that he is taller than what you said, a 6'8 kid.

And I think Edryn can contain him, thay guy is a 6'5 with PG/SG as his natural position. But looking at the player's stories from IG, it looks like its the same lineup from the SEABA that will play on this tournament based on that tuneup game against NU Bullpups.

I remember that he was also included in Qatar's past U18 lineup that went against our U18 Gilas (Mason's batch) and that game went hard from 1st to 3rd quarter because of him. And that Gilas U18 is much stronger than what we have right now.
