On the first look, we lack high FG 3 pt shooting. There is no high 3FG shooter in the roster. KQ is still a big question mark here. In the drills that I saw, Dwight would need to hit a high rate in the corner.
I think this is a glaring weakness. Even Tab had heading. Even though he preferred taller defensive lineups, Heading was an important player for him for spacing.

what are your predictions for tomorrow's games? here's mine:
australia - korea by 20
thailand - indonesia by 10
new zealand - taipei by 30
hong kong - philippines by 40
guam - japan by 15
china - mongolia by 35
australia over korea
australia, obviously, is taller and more physical. in terms skills, the boomers got it. in terms, boomers has it as well.
indonesia over thailand
in terms quality of local talents, thailand and indonesia are almost equal. however, thailand does not have a personnel to match lester prosper.
new zealand over taipei
this obvious - new zealand is way better than taipei.
philippines over hong kong
like the new zealand-taipei, the philippines is way way stronger than hong kong.
japan over guam
guam has the size and can play physical. the team is also not short of skilled and talented players. however, japan is equal in size, a bit better than guam in terms of skills and, most of all, has a very good system. guam has yet to play a quality ASIAN team. the closest was against Taipei and this team is not even in the top 10 in asia. tomorrow, guam will be up against a top asian team in japan.
china over mongolia
obviously, china is way superior over mongolia.Last edited by ja.he; 02-21-2024, 03:53 AM.Attack

THA-INA +4
NZL-TPE +30
HKG-PHL -40
GUM-JPN -10
CHN-MGL +10
Plus means for the home team, minus means for the road team.

Only 2 games tomorrow will be competitive… Indonesia vs Thailand then Guam vs Japan… the rest will be blowouts… but the main game that worth watching will be Indonesia-Thailand match because this is crucial for both teams, especially for Thailand, if they can’t get a win in their home turf vs Indonesia then they will be likely out since I don’t see them beating Indonesia in Jakarta…Thais have better players but Indons already break the barrier for mid tier Asian teams… having experience playing against tougher competition, beating KSA, Kazakhstan, Syria made them have confidence going up against Thais plus they have better system, even Coach Toroman left, his system already planted and it’s growing already… they still running Toroman’s playbook… this is what Indonesia have the advantage over Thailand.. Although both improved since last decade… having breaking the barrier makes Indonesia slightly advantage over Thais… That’s why Thais has to beat Indonesia in Bangkok for getting atleast some upper hand in their rematch in November in Jakarta

Meanwhile Japan still getting a win vs Guam but I’m curious Guam how they will play against tougher competition… How will much improve Jericho Cruz bring his championship poise in Guam team… Maybe if he have a good game here vs Japan, For sure Japan B league offers will likely to call for him soon… this is the best ever line up Guam can offer.. the only other game that Guam parade their full strength squad was against New Zealand back in 2020, although they lose by 21 pts… but this is much better because Cruz and even Galloway improve since then….

Indonesia have advantage vs Thailand due to good quality system, they continue what Toroman system planted… that is why they already breaking mid tier Asian team barrier for ASEAN teams in basketball, while Thailand didn’t yet, they not yet won against higher rank teams such as Syria, Kazakhstan and KSA, those teams already beat by Indonesia… meanwhile Guam already played New Zealand back in 2020… they have a competitive game there before NZL pull over their strength in the 4th… Guam already played top tier team in NZL as you said that they haven’t yet…

I'm expecting coach Tim to put Dwight mostly at the 3 spot & Dwight will only play some 2-guard on token minutes.
But we'll see."A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

Well, this is just a tune-up game so perhaps Lebanon didn't come close to playing at full strength."A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game.
