On the first look, we lack high FG 3 pt shooting. There is no high 3FG shooter in the roster. KQ is still a big question mark here. In the drills that I saw, Dwight would need to hit a high rate in the corner.

I think this is a glaring weakness. Even Tab had heading. Even though he preferred taller defensive lineups, Heading was an important player for him for spacing.
That means Oftana, JB, Jamie, and Carl will have to be ready to shoot. They're the best shooters we have right now. Jamie shot well for one window, let's see if he can replicate that in this window and future FIBA games.

Oftana will be in the starting unit.. he is the main SF of CTC last Asian Games... Ramos will play SG.... CJ Perez will be off the bench... He's also the 6th man last Asian games run of CTC.... Remember Oftana is the 1st pick of CTC when he was picked as HC of Gilas...

                • Only 2 games tomorrow will be competitive… Indonesia vs Thailand then Guam vs Japan… the rest will be blowouts… but the main game that worth watching will be Indonesia-Thailand match because this is crucial for both teams, especially for Thailand, if they can’t get a win in their home turf vs Indonesia then they will be likely out since I don’t see them beating Indonesia in Jakarta…Thais have better players but Indons already break the barrier for mid tier Asian teams… having experience playing against tougher competition, beating KSA, Kazakhstan, Syria made them have confidence going up against Thais plus they have better system, even Coach Toroman left, his system already planted and it’s growing already… they still running Toroman’s playbook… this is what Indonesia have the advantage over Thailand.. Although both improved since last decade… having breaking the barrier makes Indonesia slightly advantage over Thais… That’s why Thais has to beat Indonesia in Bangkok for getting atleast some upper hand in their rematch in November in Jakarta

                  • Meanwhile Japan still getting a win vs Guam but I’m curious Guam how they will play against tougher competition… How will much improve Jericho Cruz bring his championship poise in Guam team… Maybe if he have a good game here vs Japan, For sure Japan B league offers will likely to call for him soon… this is the best ever line up Guam can offer.. the only other game that Guam parade their full strength squad was against New Zealand back in 2020, although they lose by 21 pts… but this is much better because Cruz and even Galloway improve since then….

                      I will like to add..

Indonesia have advantage vs Thailand due to good quality system, they continue what Toroman system planted… that is why they already breaking mid tier Asian team barrier for ASEAN teams in basketball, while Thailand didn’t yet, they not yet won against higher rank teams such as Syria, Kazakhstan and KSA, those teams already beat by Indonesia… meanwhile Guam already played New Zealand back in 2020… they have a competitive game there before NZL pull over their strength in the 4th… Guam already played top tier team in NZL as you said that they haven’t yet…

Are Guam citizens covered by the Asian heritage imports in B league? Jericho does not play for the Philippines in Fiba so he cannot use his PH citizenship for B league.

Let's see if coach Tim will give Dwight Ramos ample playing time at the 2-guard spot.

I'm expecting coach Tim to put Dwight mostly at the 3 spot & Dwight will only play some 2-guard on token minutes.

                          But we'll see.

It was close. Though Leb didn't have Arakji & Ali Haidar who are 2 of the best local players of Leb, still Syria isn't that strong.
Well, this is just a tune-up game so perhaps Lebanon didn't come close to playing at full strength.

But as we know Jericho Cruz is also eligible for Gilas as a local too… so he’s qualified… as long as you are local player by FIBA then he’s still qualified as Asian import there…We know Cruz is playing for Guam, but he has Filipino passport and true blooded Pinoy…
