  • Taiwan up by only 6 pts against Hongkong
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

      It’s a non-bearing game.

Yet a guy like Rosario gets a spot. How can you add new players when your reason is always lack of PT. And with the way things are going now, Cone’s relic of a triangle seems to be well scouted already. If they are going to do PNR. How’s experience in triangle important anymore?

Check also the turnover, more turnover than points last World Cup,,

I don't know if you e observe earlier, first time in the years of watching basketball, PBA , COLLEGE and Fiba , first time that the starting PG waving off the inbounder , refusing the ball and letting either Ramos or someone else carry the ball from backcourt to the frontcourt....I don't know it was by design, pero the other players should have been postiinung making off ball movement pero sila pa nag cross ng ball...Ano sa saysay ng starting PG mo, if he is hesitant to handle the ball and afraid of being press....It shows lack of confidence....My God, it's not as if he is a rookie, pero he was once a Fuckin PBA MVP

I think majority here are in agreement that the only reason Scottie is in the team is because of CTC.

Otherwise, no, he wouldn’t be my first or second choice PG at all.

Ibang-iba kasi nagagawa ng isang natural or traditional point guard eh, especially if we're talking about the national team. A natural point guard has this so called "diskarte" especially when the going gets tough. We've seen that on the likes of Johnny Abarrientos, Jimmy Alapag, Jayson Castro, LA Tenorio. If his other teammates can't seem to get their games going, the Abarrientoses, or the Alapags or the Castros would be more assertive in scoring & would sometimes takeover the game. I didn't see it in Iskati Thompson eh. I mean the Iskati Thompson in Gilas uniform.
Definitely he is not a natural PG. Heck even at Ginebra he is not their primary PG..If Tim Cone really trust him as his prime PG why is GSM stockpiling PGs, they have Pringle before, LA, but recruited Pinto, Ahanmisi and drafted RJ...it's as if Tim is going big for the sake of going big without the necessary skills.. Even if smaller , Skati can't outplay or do better PG duties than Alapag LA and Castro...RJ would be more or a threat, heck even Cagulangan would could orchestrate or break the press...It's not as if Asian guards are huge, Togashi and Kawamuram are below 5-9, Britt and Leada are sub 6 , pucha even 5-7 Gao outplayed Skati

The only RP team PG also that waves off the inbounder, refusing to handle the ball from the backcourt..

The worst part is, PBA and media people was hailing him as the Savior PG of Philippine basketball , before World Cup and him coming off injury prior to the FIRST Window..I get it , if Tim has crush on Skati,he can be in the team for his intangibles and familiarity , but not as the Starting PG , maybe 3rd string guard(ala Perez role) /10 th -11th man..Sa Ginebra nga insecure si Tim stockpiling PGs, why do we have to Live and Die with Skati for GILAS. IF familiarity and lack of practice time is an issue, why not include in pool RJ or Ahanmisi who are his PG in GSM....

                • This is actually one of JBs strengths. He can make plays. Scottie can only play as PG only with a guy like JB and only in a system like the triangle where he doesnt need to create. We have to move on from the triangle and move on from Scottie. If we’re talking about converted PGs who can defend and rebound then why not get Winston.

                  • Not a good sign to cut the face of the PBA from the team especially if he plays for the Coach's team. And he should know the system better than anyone else. Yeah he sucks but it's unrealistic to expect them to reduce his minutes. They should but likely they won't.

                    • It’s really funny when a PGs most known plays are rebounds. I agree its admirable. But if you expect your PG to rebound in Fiba you’re cooked.

Replacing Perez is more realistic IMO

Scottie is untouchable as long as Cone is the coach.

Agree. The problem is when Scottie still plays a lot when others perform well. Newsome helped in the comeback but was benched for Scottie. Scottie ended up -35 in 31 minutes. He had no right being brought back over Newsome.

If you're forced to choose between the 2 who would you pick?
