Read up on the guy’s background.

You’d know why I don’t view him positively.

Don’t even get me started on his influences on game officials whenever ginebra plays.

The real litmus test is still qualifying for Qatar 2027 and LA 2028.

We meet both objectives, then maybe I’ll believe this “smaller pool is better” BS.
I'm trying to understand this. You admit it will be miraculous for us to win the Asia Cup. And yet, if we pull it off, you won't think it's a success?

Then 3 long years from now, when they meet all your objectives, then maybe, you will believe.

I'm curious, were you already born the last time we won a (bronze) medal in the Asian Games? For anyone less than 25 years old, it's the first medal we've won and a gold at that. And I guess even if we win the Asia Cup (which we haven't done in 40 years, not to mention Australia is now Asian) it's still something not worth celebrating. None of our players were even born the last time we won an Asia Cup, and we have some really old players.

      • While I congratulate TC for the Asian Games gold I would say we had both JB and Kouame. The first point is we had a good and a decent NP and we're allowed only one in Fiba tourneys. Second is Kouame is not even in the conversation right now despite being the 2nd most important player of that team. We can't underestimate defense. Without a good rim protector the challenge is doubly hard for the rest of the team.

Previous teams/coaches had 25 years to come up with the right pieces/program. And for 25 years we didn't even get a bronze.

Future games are future games. But we can't discount the team's recent achievements so far. Including the games without Kouame.

As to rim protection, hopefully we'll have AJ this window, the Asia Cup, and the November 2025 and February 2026 windows.

On the other hand, we'll also have to find a way to hold the line when none of Kai and AJ are on the floor. Reduce the instances where June Mar is rendered unplayable, and/or make a small ball lineup feasible. The Doha tournament and this window hopefully provides the answer to that.

Parks? Bolick? Balti? Probably Heading? Just on yhe top of my head. An invite at least

They can pick any player they want. They had the freedom to do so unlike before where they're only allowed one player per team. Heck nobody is even pulling a super ubo this time. They can assemble a really strong team if they're willing

                • For me, the addition of 1 or 2 bigmen is enough because this is where the shortage is really crucial. The absence of a bigman, especially a rim protector/defensive anchor, really changes the complexion of the game.

Extra difficult to accept any victory for Gilas as they are blinded by their hate on SMC and Al Chua.

The same guys who always thought that the national team's success can be done without the PBA's involvement. Its really tearing them apart to be a Gilas supporter and giving props to the PBA and SMC for getting it right

Heading and abando were already contacted. QMB papers are still not in order. Japeth is still better than Balti right now. Do you really want the Ravenas, parks and bolick back in the NT?

Enough with the conspiracy theories. This is just CTC wanting his pieces and not caring who our favorite players are. This Gilas roster is not a popularity contest

As employees, doing our jobs and getting it done are expected of us. As business owners, you would want someone like him as your employee.

Let's not forget its a team with two NPs,somehow the Chinese with their hubris didn't challenge it.

No one is refusing any victory.

Don’t act like Chua and the SMC have clean hands. The hate and suspicions about them are valid if you’ve been paying attention since Gilas I.

The PBA and SMC aren’t getting it right. They simply have the talents from both sides (PBA and other leagues) to form a competitive team with a competent coach.

Remove Brownlee, who else from the PBA contributes significantly? Only JMF, Newsome, and Scottie.

                            Aguilar is 38 this year.

Malonzo barely played in 2024 and is out of shape.

                            Perez and Oftana are inconsistent.

Amos ay may gatas pa sa labi.

After Brownlee, our best players are Kai, Edu, Dwight, Tamayo, and KQ.

I don’t hate the PBA. I hate its jurassic leadership and lopsided trade bullshit favoring SMC teams.

I will always support Gilas but will not back down from calling out the negatives affecting the program.

Life isn’t black and white. Understand nuance, then you’ll understand.

Don’t forget the 2019 WC team was predominantly a PBA-selection yet underperformed.

Let’s also not forget we required Brownlee to go super sayan against the Chinese in the semis where we never led till the end.

We also had Ange and Brownlee. Two NPs.

Australia, NZ, and Lebanon also didn’t participate.

I didn't even mention the Ravenas but I'm sure these guys are willing to lend a hand even if just to provide extra bodies. Japeth is older than me, playing a sport where most his age would retire. I'm not the biggest Balti fan but you could see why they need to at least invite him , drop him if he's really as terrible as you say. We don't have enough decent bigs.

Bolick publicly stated that he would like to play for GILAS again yet he was never even invited despite our need for good guards.
