That's on FIBA.
If the country is really unstable, they should just change the venue to a neutral one.
I still don't get why FIBA doesn't understand Tehran isn't a stable place.

They should have gone to stream the India and Qatar. Looks like Qatar is having their 2000's team vibe out there.
Seriously, how Qatar was able to play two naturalized players at the same time? Harris and Lewis are obviously naturalized players. I did not include other Afro-Qataris and Euro-Qataris since I assume that they did able to secure Qatari passports before reaching 16 years old. Even the OS Basket, a Jordanian basketball page, was able to notice it.

But come to think about it, Qatar with 2 world imports in Harris & Mike Lewis could only beat India by 16 pts. Qatar led at half by only 5 pts & led by 11 pts going into the 4th quarter.
Qatar player 6-foot-11 Alen Hadzibegovic, who is of Montenegro descent, did not play in this game. Hadzibegovic used to play in Russia's div. 1 Pro league where he registered impressive stats.

acting like pinoys will not send a team full of illegals if they have a fiba official on a payroll. You will see Mo Tautuaa, Mike Phillips, Mikey Williams, Ange Kouame, Justine Brownlee, Jordan Clarkson and a bunch of full blooded Chinese on the same roster for a decade at least if pinoys run fiba

Poor India... A team who is always perennial participant in every Fiba Asia cup will likely not qualify in their group.. A team that has potential to be powerhouse team but suffering numerous challenges and financial struggles due to little support by their government (India is all cricket and nothing else).. Since 1999, they are always qualified to FIBA Asia cup.. but this is the purpose of this new format.. only best teams will enter the tournament and weak teams will be out.. Hong Kong was the first one who were out last 2022 after always qualified since the inauguration of the event... India was always benefiting easy qualification in the region where basketball is a niche sport.. teams like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka are not hook with basketball too... Now they feeling the effects of new format.. if you are weak then you are not deserve to be here...

SBP should file a protest to FIBA regarding Qatar's practice of converting world import player into Qatari local player even if such player has not obtained Qatari passport prior to his 16th birthday. What Qatar is doing is a mockery of FIBA rules. It has to be stopped.
FIBA obviously is favoring Qatar being the host of the 2027 World Cup."A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game.
