I can't believe some people think that Latvia deliberately lose its game against Gilas. Its like a full-force Gilas team deliberately losing a game against Malaysia or Singapore. That's unforgivable. I think the arrogance in Yao Ming is now coming into a realization that as Pinoy players get bigger & with better preparation, that once significant edge China has enjoyed over the Philippines in so many years has now vanished. China could no longer dominate the Philippines like it did in the 80's, 90's & 2000's. The thing is, China could no longer dominate Asian basketball like it used to. The Chinese are very much beatable by teams like Jordan, Lebanon, Japan, Philippines.

China even have hard time beating a team another Asian team who is now playing in OQT right now, talking about Bahrain… their last 3 match ups are too close and Bahrain has a chance to steal the game from China…

It's really impressive on how we compete now againts this euro teams with shorts preparations... in chot and tab time normally we get massacred in tune ups games/pockets tournament kahit na may 2-3 weeks of practices na.

Lame. For the longest time, compressed games schedule were very common in sporting competitions. As if naman hindi sila aware sa schedule of games months before the tournament. Sa tingin mo ba intellectually challenged sila tulad mo? Adapting to the short rest periods are part of the preparation of athletes especially to this high level of competition.

Yes no one expected us to win but most of the logical arguments before the game were, the team will try and fight to win instead of just tanking the game and save everything for Georgia, i even mentioned that knowing Coach Tim he will not do that shit and it's not like a PBA tournament, in this short tournament every win matters
