Also a turn around jumper might be good. His body and height is really close to Porzingis. If he can improve his perimeter shot it would really be a game changer.

The problem is,he will go back to Bleague where he plays against smaller WI that doesn't really play defense, and more than likely 90% of his points will be from drop pass or lobs,I can't even remember if he even utilize his baby hook shot anymore.

Wright's 33 and an underperformer in FIBA. Better off looking for a younger option, or one in his prime.

Having Dwight as a combo guard is an advantage for us. The coaching staff should add other options for the 3 spot, preferably defensive wings who can shoot decently from the distance.

If Oftana flunks in Riga (especially on the defense), hopefully they will include Navarro and Tuffin to shore up the wing position. If only Tuffin is at least 6’5-6’6, he’s a no brainer because of his shooting. But for me Navarro is the perfect wing for Gilas. Size, length, laterals, knows his role very well and can knock down the occasional trifecta with a respectable percentage.
Navarro has played mostly 4 with NorthPort, although he can stay in front of wings. And his 3 hasn't gone in for him this year. But yeah, he's our best wing defender bar Dwight. He should be considered if Oftana flunks.

        • Tuffin is closer to 6'4-6'5 so pwde na. I just want to throw in Schonny Winston as replacement to Perez, similar in size too. Perez being the better slasher but Winston being the more consistent shooter.
And if we're going on a frontline of Kai-Fajardo-Edu, Konov should be a better alternative to Amos, both 6'7 and lights out shooters but Konov plays more like a 3-4 which we need long term than Amos who plays like a stretch 4-5.
So Konov,Tuffin and Winston for Japeth, Oftana & Perez after the OQT.
Heading's name should be there too.

He did. Did you watch the OQT? JMF lost a lot of weight because Tab asked him to. So he would be faster on defense. He improved but he needed to get used to it to be more effective. But you know in the PBA he's like Shaq. He needs to clog the paint, be a dominant force in the middle for almost 40 minutes. He couldn't do that with the lesser weight. For those who said it was because JMF wanted to eat more, it isn't simple as that. He's a pro athlete. He's not Belga. He knows what weight he needs to be in his role in the PBA. At a lesser weight he could be pushed a bit. That's not his role in SMB needed to be. Now he actually lost some weight compared to pre-injury. In the PBA he's not as dominant now in the middle. He picks his spots more. Part of it is protecting from reinjury but also his lesser weight.

Yeah, Schonny Winston I think can be a Gilas prospect. He can play as a point guard. Isn't really that deadly from 3-pt but has a decent pull-up jumper from mid-range. Can also play defense. I think compared to CJ Perez, Winston has better shooting & playmaking skills. But I think Perez is quicker & the better slasher.

I also think Konov has better upside than Mason Amos in overall aspects. Both are deadly shooters, but I think Amos has better inside moves. Amos however is a deadweight in defense which for me is his biggest downside. I think Konov is quicker & more mobile than Amos, hence he might turn out to be the better defender than Amos.

See the luxury that we now have if one of our small forwards in Gilas falters & doesn't meet expectations. Oftana is struggling right now & here we are talking about Will Navarro & Ken Tuffin as Oftana's possible replacement at the 3 spot. And it's not like Navarro or Tuffin is any smaller or shorter than Oftana. Magkasinlaki talaga sila.

Malaki na talaga improvement ng Philippine basketball when it comes to size/height at the 3 spot. About 5 to 6 years ago, we didnt have this kind of luxury.

To be fair, Ramos was balling in the final give minutes. Glad to see him compete toe-to-toe against legit Euro players.

Juan Nunez was selected by Indiana and was one of the best players of spain last world cup, though i am not sure if he will immediately play in the nba or he will do a Rubio
