Better not rely on Edu. This is our team for better or for worse. Kai will be our main rim protector. It will take a good 5 man team defense without Edu but it is doable. It helps Newsome, Perez and Dwight are actually good perimeter defenders. Perez got stuck on screens a couple of times but was good in the last minute.

SBP have to protect Edu.. better just play him in important games… in November it’s ok if he not play.. maybe against NZL we need him but no need against Taiwan and Hong Kong…

As a long time JF fan, his defense almost brought tears to my eyes. It was pretty good today. In some cases he was more active in defending the 3 than Kai. I hope the no-drop defense doesnt come back. I will live with JF chasing the 3 and the guy making it than giving open layups all day.

Im not seeing these as moral victories but as a barometer on what level we are right now. With this core, we have been hanging in there with world level teams since the world cup.

Many hate Kai Sotto but he elevate our team into different level even he’s not in prime yet… having legit big man makes our team competitive… his long arms, height giving opponents a hard time… If we face Japan in the future, Kai is the key (alongside Edu) to beat full force Japan… Japan’s big are small…

I’d give credit to CTC for benching him because it’s a tuneup game and he doesn’t need him to exert any more effort down 7 or 9 with 2 minutes to go at baka ma-injure pa… but to suggest he’s a fucking genius to play All-Filipino and wanting to win this tune-up just shows how emotionally invested you were. If I was CTC, I wouldn’t give a damn about those desperation time shots because they were defensively a mess with how Poland were able to find a lot of open shots with the poor defense.

Another thing, every version of Gilas plays well with better preparation.

We need panopio to standout in the KBL so he can be considered as out backup PG.

Oftana is good in Asia, keep him in Fiba asia tournaments.

KQ should regain his shooting touch in Dubai for him to be useful

He's doing alot of improvemnet these days,he's not reliant on a pg drop passes and at times you can see him creating his own shots.Kai will never chased and defend the perimeter as hard as he should be,he had bad experience on landing on somoeone's foot.

SBP and PBA should sit together and make an arrangement that will be able to let Ange play as a local to help his case for exemption he will help us to get over the hump against non asian teams as he is still the best big man defender for our national team, Edu is good, but the guy is already a damaged good

Kai looked like jokic in the first half

Brownlee is also proving himslef to be a good substitute NP. He can still play in Europe. In his prime, he could have played in the NBA
