I think we pinoy bball fans are glazing these Baltic teams a bit too much, the African and Latam teams aren't slouches. Cameroon probably just caught Brazil slacking, not that Brazil is in anyway threathened by Montenegro or Latvia, you guys are overanalyzing this shit

Yeah maybe. or maybe not. I actually believed everybody played to win every single game. it just that there were also calculated risks that were decided once the game progresses and scenarios and conditions develop. Maybe not obvious, and not by all means premeditated, , but these things really happen

Agree. Gilas really exposed Latvia. We would have been a good matchup for Montenegro as well. Can't say Brazil chose its semis opponents cause they're bound to face the hosts anyway.

From top to bottom, Brazil was the most talented in Riga. Add to that their coach who instilled discipline into their team. They had Meindl, Gui Santos, Caboclo, Marcelinho and Yago... Raul Neto didn't even play. That lineup was STACKED with NBA pedigree. It's their time now. Their roster composition is ready for the Olympics.

Coach Tim just didn't go all in this OQT. Understandable because, are we really ready for Paris 2024?? First, going with 11 players, and then decision to not go for the kill vs Georgia in OT and then Kai DNP. Tim was thinking long term.

If we made it to Paris, we only have 2 weeks to prepare. We can't send an crippled lineup and get permission from the Utah Jazz to let JC play in such a short amount of time. It would have been a disastrous Olympic campaign for Gilas sending an all PBA/Bleague team plus an IBL import. Truth is we need a better roster to compete in Paris.

The vision is LA 2028 after all.
Manifesting: Philippines top 5 in the FIBA World Rankings

The real Cone era starts now.. this OQT is the last remaining timeline of Chot’s era, w/c is we are not deserving to be there as of now… The FIBA Asia cup next year is the best barometer if we are ready for LA Olympics in 2028…

I think we should have to score quick 2 in that last 15 sec span than milk the clock and settled for that close loss.. who knows if we score quick 2 then the lead will be cut to 1, w/ under 10 or 8 secs left… so the Georgians will have to think what they will do to tie the game… Georgians will likely turn the ball over and they will go thru foul game and pray that we will miss 1 freethrows… actually we could win the game if we are creative in that last 15 secs…

Actually it’s harder to beat Latinos than Euros (except top notch teams such as Spain, Germany or France)… they are mixed w/ European style and American style of game.. w/c is more harder, the records says it all… our advantage in athleticism is cut off by any Latinos because they are also exposed playing Americans regularly… while somehow we are athletic than some of the Europeans…

That means Brazil has the control of their destiny, They just only avoid 15 pt loss… it’s no debate even if we are the top seed in our group, Brazil will go to 2nd seed and pair w/ us… even before the final games of qualifiers, Brazil already had sight to be pair w/ Gilas in semis… its obvious that even casual fans will think Gilas is safer pick than Latvia… Even if we are in situation of Brazil then we will pick Gilas as semis opponent…

Damn we need way more Dwight Ramoses
Ramos is actually Euroleague ready player… He can be a rotational or even a starter in a right team in Europe… if we want to have many players to be same caliber as Ramos then bring those players to play in Europe.. but you know money is too big to pass up in Japan or Korea… I think after our impressive OQT run, I’m sure some Euroleague teams already contacting guys like Ramos or Kai if they are available and sign contracts to play any Euroleague teams…

                  • This is one tough group for Japan. They will face France, Germany and Brazil - these are the top teams in Europe and Latin Americas, respectively. I wonder what will be the gameplan of Hovasse. France is one heck of a talented team even though they flopped last year. Germany has the talent and the system and Japan already lost to them. Brazil is one tough defensive team filled with athletic and physical players.

Marcelinho should be there instead of Hill. He shot his team out of the game in the semis.

Kai and Dwight in Euroleague will set the bar high for our young players. It's a much more sustainable career than the NBA. This is the importance of winning. Now European teams can see the skill and athletic superiority of Filipinos over their locals.

Feels like France is the odd man out in that group (japan, germany and brazil) too bad Italy didnt make it
