Many of the folks here are afraid of playing against Brazil. On my part, I am very excited that, finally, during my lifetime, we are going to play against them. One of the perennial contenders in the Latin Americas, alongside Argentina, it's a huge honor for Gilas to play against Brazil.Attack

I watched the two games of Brazil, and all I can say is we have a better chance of beating Montenegro. Brazil’s speed and athleticism would be a problem for us. I dont know how CTC can counter Brazil’s advantage in that area. Maybe another episode of zone defense?

But Puso is synonymous with courage though.. and they definitely showing enormous amount of it everytime the players are on the floor especially against teams that on paper stronger than them. I mean coming back from 20 points deficit opposite a highly talented team and still doing something especial at the end.
But then again this is the first time in a long while that I saw a gilas team with less emotion and more compose even during endgames and I mean them hitting amazing shots after shots and betraying minimal to zero emotion is a sign of maturity and strong mind. You do not have permission to view this gallery.

The BasketNews guys are reviewing the OQT.
Part on Gilas starts on the 22:23 mark. Donatas Urbonas noted the increased ball movement, physicality, simple basketball, some "lucky shots," defensive effort, the bigs, Brownlee, and that we play more as a unit. The simple plays like PnR and looking for advantages. Urbonas and Augustas Suliauskas also raved on June Mar, with Urbonas calling June Mar one of the most powerful players he's ever seen.

Gilas is a highly technical team with excellent players.- Aleksandar Petrovic
Petrovic said Gilas poses a different challenge compared to other teams they’ve faced including Cameroon.
When asked about it during a postgame press conference, Petrovic said Cameroon plays more of a physical style of play, while the Philippines is more technical.
“If you are not ready to face that physicality which the African teams have, you are in big trouble because they are all over the rim, they press you, and you need to have clean ideas. Cameroon is that kind of team,” said the Croatian coach.
“Philippines is completely different. It’s a highly-technical team with excellent players. Four or five of them play more than 33 minutes. It’s very difficult to compare them. It’s completely different,” said Petrovic.

Also, blessing in disguise Kai got taken out so bench players could shake off the rust.
I think PH will take this game by a wide margin if they don't play like the opposition. Brazil plays like us in our previous WC iterations specifically 2014 and 2023, so much star power but too predictable. If we avoid going back to our old ways we'll get the dub.Manifesting: Philippines top 5 in the FIBA World Rankings

But, beating a # 6 on their home floor in this era makes this team extra special.
That NCC team birthed the Arguably GOAT PG in Calma, the Absolute GOAT shooter in Caidic and the Definitive GOAT aerial artist in Samboy,

It worked against Latvia, and it didn't against Georgia. Like I said before, our team won't be good enough to beat every type of team, we can only hope to do well against certain types of teams.
Brazil will be a tall task because their bigs are strong and quick. Hopefully, the team's newfound ability to compete no matter what comes through.
