    B. League feels like a league that was formed by Jimmy Alapag fans. LOL.

All their PGs are in his mold.

Now they have nba players, D1 players, a growing pro league and a world cup win.

More than that, they have a direction for their system that they can continue to build on. It won't suddenly go away and bring them back to zero even if they lose their next games.

I havent watched the game so Im also not convinced yet. I have to admit that JPs guards are built differently. In a way they are like Jimmy Alapag. Alapag was 5’10 but with short arms. So he developed his deep 3. This is what I see from JPs guards also.

But B league favors the local small guards. And until I see the game I cant remove the possibility of hometown calls helping JP. We had a lot of hometown calls trying to help us against Angola. We were just too bad to take advantage.

At the end of the day, our players still deserve our support and gratitude. Most of them sacrificed for this tournament. They're competing, getting punched, risking injury, etc. and all of them are trying their best to win.

For their sake, I hope the game against Italy will still be respectable for them.

The only time Gilas bounced back was that SEAG finals against Cambodia. And maybe the Senegal 2019 game.

Everytime they come from a demoralizing loss or even after a big win (Korea 2013), they lose the succeeding games in lackluster performances.

For a so-called professional insipirational speaker, Choke can't inspire his players to bounce back.

I still think that Japeth and Edu should start. We try to avoid C minutes for Edu. But probably we cant avoid that here. So Edu, Japeth and Malonzo will be our main rotation bigs. Please watch out for Pogoy cheating on D. And please more CJ minutes.

I am not sure what system JP plays but Im sure it is to maximize their players particularly their 5’8 guards. Maybe its base is euro style but of course they tweaked it to fit their personnel.

One thing you should know about the Japanese. They dont reinvent the wheel. After opening to the West they identified the best sources of technologies and adapted them. That is probably with their basketball. Why create a new system. Find an effective system that you can work with and adapt it.

Whether or not Euro ball is fit for Japan and Korea, do they have a choice? They don't have that many mixed bloods to make them athletic. They don't have the height of the Chinese either. They are late to the scene and they are not gifted with street ball diskarte like we are. This means the only kind of system they can imitate is Euroball which compensates their lack of height, muscles and athleticism.

i dont think out guards are fast enough to cover the perimeter while our frontcourt of Kai JMF and Japeth will get abused by Italia’s drives

As I have said in the other thread, Italy's shooting had been dreadful for their first two games. Will the law of averages work this time around?
I don't like Gilas' chances tbh. The moment they lost to Angola, that's it. This will be a tall task that ultimately CCR can't overcome

I read Gilas needs to beat Italy by 13 points and hope Angola loses to DR for them to advance in the next round.
Italy will play with a lot of desperation and urgency. It's in their hands if they want to advance to the next round, they just have to beat us.

Add to that that their coach got thrown out last game when they lost to DR. Expect them to play fired up. We have to match that intensity or risk getting blown out.

If Angola can get open threes against us, Italy who has more shooters and more plays will be doubly hard to defend.
