Who will be the best defenders for Dallas? Boston has the two best defenders in the league - White and Holiday. Brown and Tatum are good two-way players as well. Horford is a good post defender.

Luka and Irving are both defensive liabilities. Who will be their defenders? Mind you, offense can disappear but not the defense.

Well Gobert was a 4x DPOY. MJ lookalike was supposed to be a great defender. Twolves were supposed to be playing one of the best defense ever but Luka and Kyrie still went nuclear against them. I don't like the Mavs but the I'd fine concede that these 2 are playing out of their minds right now and I fear that Boston has been sleep walking so far.

Gobert is a rim protector, not perimeter defender. Minny is generally good at rim protection. Boston, on the other hand, has 4 perimeter/wing defenders in their starting five - Holiday, White, Brown and Tatum. I see Boston to do the collective effort to atleast limit Luka and Kyrie's production.

Luke should have really committed to improving his conditioning in the off-season. Every year he comes in over weight and it costs them games. That's just unacceptable from your franchise players. Compare that to other superstars who are forced to change their diets and commit to working on their physique. Heck even CP3 who's getting ridiculed yearly turned vegan just to extend his playing years. Luka honestly looks overweight and chubby.

Luka’s style actually relies more on his girth and strength rather than speed. Like a taller prime Harden. However he is so skilled that even with his weight he can break some people. However, it makes him slower in defense. Given that celts have all 5 shooters and scorers, you cant hide Luka anywhere.

The pack in the paint defense doesnt work because all of the celts are good outside shooters.

The Celts have two Gary Payton-type guards in White and Holiday. Irving will have a difficult time scoring against them.

Boston had 6 guys in double digits. Dallas needs that 3rd and 4th scorer to keep up with Boston.

Also Boston prevented Dallas’ lob plays. It seems they’re allowing Doncic to score instead of giving up that lob plays.

He can still be strong without being that heavy. Being heavier and poor conditioning would lead to more wear and tear. I believe he's played through injuries this playoffs already and they're lucky he hasn't missed significant time but who knows how his body will last. He's also being hunted on defense so it really hurts his team especially when they're up against the better ones who'll take advantage of all their weaknesses.

How did that happen?

Because they sparingly played their main players and let the bench/role players do the clean up for the last 10-15 games of the Celtics in the eliminations when they already secured the top seed. Thus, they ended up more healthy because they were not as banged up as other teams. This is the reason why you have to win as many wins as possible.
