  • I heard a rumor On nba central Dejounte Murray for Rui Hachimura and Austin Reaves. I rather see the Lakers bring back Kyle Kuzma. Or Trade for Zach Lavine

I'm not talking about them being individually better than CP3, call it luck or call it having the x factor or whatever. Horry and Green may not be stars but they always started and were always instrumental in some way winning multiple championships with different teams.

CP3 was regarded for a long time as the top pg and after that kept trying to join super teams but still could not get over the hump.

This is the season he is completely washed up. Cp3 is a top 75 player of all time. 2018 and 2022 season are the only season he had a chance of winning a championship

        • CP3 shows how difficult winning a chip is. So many (considered) all-time greats who never figure it out and never even get one. While those who win usually wins multiple times.

Championship mentality and ability is rare. We know the stars who obviously have it like Jordan, Kobe, Lebron, Kawhi. But there are also unsung guys like Horry and Green who definitely have it. Won chips with three different teams. Only them and Lebron have done that.

Personally I think it's impressive because they are not stars so when they come into a new team, the coach is not pressured to play them. "Role players" are a dime a dozen. But somehow they always end up being vital during every finals and almost always becomes an x-factor for their team winning.

Those stars also had plenty of help. No way they would go all the way by just themselves. The only recent team I could think off that didn't really have a lot of super duper stars are the 04 Pistons but they were incredibly balanced and deep and most of the team got their recognition after that and made the all star the year after. Luck also plays a factor. For some reason Kawhi and the Raptors winning was forever etched into my memory as lucky but I'm too lazy right now to discuss it lol

            • There are stars, and then there are the right kind of stars. Hoops is a team game so obviously you can't win by yourself.

Try to watch the podcast of Arenas where he insults Ginobili saying he's only a 6th man and can not be compared to his level. That is the perfect example of so-called stars who have no clue about what it takes to win championships. Manu won against team USA as Argentina's main man. He may have not started with the Spurs, but when it came to ending games and winning time, he's won plenty by himself. He didn't care for individual glory coz the guy was a winner.

A lot of times, guys get labeled as stars because of stats. They seem like superstars because they get theirs. The problem is, when chips are on the line, they can't get those numbers anymore. Or even if they still do, it's to the detriment of the team. On the other hand, there are guys who when the going gets tough, they get even better. And the production they provide is the right amount needed to win chips.

There are levels to this. The real ones are rare and they are always in the thick of it.

watched that podcast as well, Stephen Jackson and Arenas were so full of themselves claiming that they are better than Ray Allen and Manu Ginobili,

Arenas stats ate merely empty stats anyway similar to the kendall gill and pre chicago bulls ron harper

Exactly. So many similar so-called stars right now too.

Lol. Off court issues aside, those guys are 6th men, off the bench scorers at best. Ray Allen is one of the best possibly top 2 or 3 shooters ever. And he was crazy athletic when he was with the bucks and got Jerome James/Ridnour/Radmonivic paid. And Manu has always been underrated/overshadowed
