19th Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou China

With the 2023 Asian Games already commenced two weeks ago with the Philippines bringing home 4 Golds, 2 Silvers and 12 Bronzes that lands us in 17^th place and as a fan I’m happy for somehow duplicating what we harvested in 2018 Palemabang AG but deep inside I’m still salivating for more. With 2026 AG now officially slated on Sept. 19 to Oct. 4, 2026 for POC Pres. Bambol and PSC Chair Dickie to prepare everything not only for next year’s 2024 Paris Olympic Games and Thailand 2025 SEA Games, with the pandemic already a think of the past, I think it’s high-time for our sports officials and stakeholders to continue the momentum of the National Sports Academy(NAS) by implementing the Phase 2 of the Sports Academy.

Yeah... The funny part is, they are also the ones who are not supporting Mr. Robin Padilla's push for Marijuana to be legal here in the PHL, While condemning JB's Marijuana's usage as medical purposes only...

Marijuana is legal as a medicinal drug in the Philippines?If not then JB shouldn't even have it in his possesion.The question is just like in some states that Medical Marijuana is legal,how much is enough to charge a person driving drunk,disorderly in public for being drunk/high,the legal part of all this is what's stopping the bill.

JB probably have reservation in playing in the Asian Games,he hasn't healed properly and the fact they got away with it in SEA GAMES,is just tempting the fates,and for the record,fans keep thinking that China was the one doing the testing,its not its the ITA that oversee the drug testing,with blessing from OCA.

Also the non-appeal could be a tactical ploy so as to increase the chance of reducing the duration of Brownlee's suspension. For instance if brownlee gets an 18-month suspension, SBP or SMC can appeal for reduction of suspension that would cut the suspension to only 3 to 6 months.

Long Hiar is the one responsible for submitting the prescription medication used by the players,and every player with the team physician will go thru the list of what is ok and what is banned.

Medical purposes or not, it’s still illegal under WADA… so if JB again positive in 2nd test, they should tell the truth already rather than deny… So that WADA will think reducing his suspension… it will not help for Brownlee if he keeps denying his case… just accept the consequences…

Long Hair and CTC probably knew he's using it for medicinal purposes,he's been injured prior to SEA GAMES,he probablly have to used it to cope with the pain,since he can't use heavy narcotics while playing,didn't account to be tested.He has been logging heavy minutes with Ginebra,SEA GAMES,and now at the Asian Games,that body is way older than his age and he's starting to break down,they used him up way too much.Compare that JC who doesn't really carry the Jazz in heavy minutes,JC will have legs and body that still can compete at a high level in FIBA.

Is this JB's first offense? If so, he will get off relatively lightly.

The FIBA penalties for testing positive for THC are as follows:

• The first offense results in a warning and a public disclosure of the violation.
• The second offense results in a two-game suspension and a fine of 20% of the player’s salary or 10,000 Swiss francs, whichever is higher.
• The third offense results in a five-game suspension and a fine of 50% of the player’s salary or 25,000 Swiss francs, whichever is higher.
• Any subsequent offense results in a ban of at least two years, which may be reduced to one year if the player agrees to a treatment program.
